Abstract

This research aims to determine the 21st century skills abilities of class X students in Biology learning at SMAN 12 Padang. This type of research is descriptive research. The population in this study were all students in class XI.IPA at SMAN 12 Padang, totaling 179 students. The sample taken was 45 students using random sampling techniques. The instruments used are questions to measure critical thinking skills and observation sheets to measure creative thinking skills, collaboration skills and communication skills. The questions used in this research are questions that have been tested for validity and reliability. The results of research conducted at SMAN 12 Padang on class XI odd semester students in the 2023/2024 academic year, namely critical thinking skills 44 with sufficient criteria, creative thinking skills 65 with high criteria, collaboration skills 76 with high criteria, and communication skills 69 with high criteria. So it can be concluded that students' 21st century skills in biology learning at SMAN 12 Padang meet high criteria.

Abstract

The learning process at SMP N 40 Padang does not fully implement critical thinking skills as seen from when the teacher gives practice questions to students. Collaboration skills in the group learning process of students are still not able to express ideas, so that in group discussion activities only a few students are active in the discussion. Meanwhile, in terms of communication skills, students are not yet able to communicate well, seen from communicating the results of group work, there are still students who refuse to represent the group moving forward. The purpose of this research is to determine the 21st century skills of class VII phase D students in biology science learning at SMP N 40 Padang.This type of research is descriptive research. The population in this study were all class VII students at SMP N 40 Padang, totaling 156 students. The sample taken was 45 students using random sampling techniques. The instruments used are selected tests (questions) and observation, collaboration and communication sheets. Research uses validity and reliability to see the results of student abilities. Meanwhile, the analysis used uses the Microsoft Excel application which is adjusted using formulas in data analysis techniques. Based on research conducted at SMP N 40 Padang. The results of this research show that the average 21st century skills of students at SMP N 40 Padang is 62.63 with high criteria. With the average values obtained respectively 30.46% with sufficient criteria, 70.69% with high criteria, 75.23% with high criteria and 74.14 with high criteria. So it can be concluded that students' 21st century skills in science learning at SMP N 40 Padang are categorized as high.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran biologi, khususnya pada materi sistem pernapasan manusia fase F. LKPD yang digunakan di sekolah masih bersifat konvensional, berisi soal latihan tanpa aktivitas nyata sehingga siswa cenderung pasif, mudah bosan, dan mengalami kesulitan memahami konsep. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis proyek terintegrasi STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) yang valid dan praktis digunakan pada pembelajaran biologi di SMA/MA. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model 4-D yang meliputi tahap define, design, develop, dan disseminate, namun dibatasi sampai tahap develop. Data diperoleh melalui uji validitas oleh ahli serta uji praktikalitas oleh guru dan peserta didik. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif menggunakan persentaseHasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LKPD yang dikembangkan memperoleh skor validitas sebesar 96,10% dengan kategori sangat valid, meliputi aspek kelayakan isi, kebahasaan, didaktik, dan kegrafikan. Uji praktikalitas oleh tiga guru biologi mencapai skor 95% (sangat praktis), sedangkan uji praktikalitas oleh 31 peserta didik memperoleh skor 92% (sangat praktis). Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa LKPD berbasis proyek terintegrasi STEM tidak hanya menarik dan mudah digunakan, tetapi juga mampu membantu siswa belajar lebih aktif, kontekstual, dan bermakna. Dengan demikian, produk ini layak dijadikan alternatif bahan ajar untuk mendukung implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka dan meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran biologi.
