Abstract

Education and learning are developing in accordance with the development of science and technology. The education quality could be improved by changing a conventional learning media into learning media that can increase student motivation so that students can more easily understand the learning material. This research aims to develop and design edutainment-based learning media using the Canva application in the subject of Mechanical Engineering Drawing. The research was carried out using the Research and Development (R&D) method with a 4D development model, which must go through a validation process from experts as a successful process of the feasibility test of the product developed before it is later used by students. This research offers a novelty by integrating specific edutainment elements in the Canva application for Machine Engineering Drawing learning, which has not been explored much in this context before. This innovation creates a more interactive and engaging learning experience, expected to significantly improve material comprehension and retention compared to conventional methods. The results of the feasibility test of edutainment-based mechanical engineering drawing learning media using the Canva application obtained a percentage of 96% from material expert validators, 88% from media expert validators, and 86% from the results of the learning media feasibility test conducted by students. From the results of the test, it can be concluded that Edutainment-Based Mechanical Engineering Drawing Learning Media Using the Canva Application "Very Feasible" is used in the learning process.

Abstract

Teaching Factory is a learning program that optimizes the curriculum, resources, and human capital in Vocational High Schools (SMK) of Centers of Excellence. The objectives of this study are: (1) to identify the level of conformity in the implementation of the Teaching Factory program by analyzing the Context, Input, Process, and Product (CIPP) at five SMKs in DKI Jakarta; and (2) to formulate recommendations for improving and developing the Teaching Factory program to be more effective and sustainable. This research employed a quantitative method with a CIPP-based evaluation instrument, involving vice principals of curriculum and facilities, teachers, and students as research subjects. The findings reveal that: (1) Context: average score 3.61 out of 4, the curriculum is relatively aligned with industry needs, but the understanding of educational regulations remains low due to limited dissemination of government policies to teachers and school management; (2) Input: average score 3.55, facilities and infrastructure are inadequate due to limited budgets and lack of regular equipment calibration, which reduces the quality of marketable products and human resources, although teachers’ pedagogical competence (avg. 3.8) is already good; (3) Process: average score 3.59, learning methods are less innovative as teachers still rely on lectures and employ ineffective assessment instruments, resulting in low collaboration among students and suboptimal graduate employability; (4) Product: average score 3.26, the quality of marketable products falls below industry standards due to weak school quality control systems and the underutilization of project-based assessment. These findings can serve as a basis for strategies and curriculum development that better prepare students for the labor market and help reduce the unemployment rate among SMK graduates.

Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has opened up significant opportunities to enhance efficiency and quality in education, including exam question creation. However, the use of AI by teachers in the Muara Gembong sub-district remains very limited due to a lack of understanding and technical skills. This community service activity aimed to improve teachers' competencies in utilizing AI-based applications such as ChatGPT, Quizizz, and Google Forms to develop exam questions more variably and efficiently. The implementation method included several stages: outreach, initial surveys, module development, hands-on training, as well as mentoring and evaluation. The activity involved 15 teachers from various educational levels in the area. Evaluation was conducted through pre-tests and post-tests to measure the improvement in participants' understanding and skills. The results showed an increase of 10 to 20 points for the majority of participants, reflecting the effectiveness of the module and materials in enhancing their understanding of AI-based question development. The decrease in the percentage of participants scoring below average (<70) from 100% to 70% is a positive initial indicator of improved teacher competency. Despite this significant improvement, 70% of participants still scored below 70. In addition, the training successfully fostered collaborative spirit among teachers in integrating technology into the learning process. This activity demonstrates that with appropriate training and sustained support, teachers in areas with limited access to technology can effectively adopt digital innovations.
