Abstract

The stages of psychosocial development of school-age children are in the industrial phase, namely the ability to produce work, interact and achieve in learning. If school children are unable to achieve their development optimally, then school children will experience low self-esteem. Stimulation of moral and social development of school-age children is an important aspect in supporting psychosocial growth because it can affect social abilities in the future. Without proper stimulation, children can experience obstacles in development that can cause problems such as low self-esteem and lack of self-confidence. The purpose of this service is to stimulate the development of moral and social aspects of school-age children. The method used in this service activity is to carry out stimulation on 30 school-age children by providing stimulation on the moral and social development aspects of school-age children. The results of this service activity show that there is an increase in the moral aspect by 2.7% and the social aspect by 11.9% in school age children. Therefore, stimulation of the development of this aspect is recommended as a health promotion to improve the development of moral and social aspects of school-age children in the mental health service setting in the community.

Abstract

Background: Risky sexual behavior is a major factor in the transmission of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), a global public health problem with significant health and social consequences. Purpose: To test the effectiveness of a supportive group intervention involving sexual norms education in reducing risky behaviors that contribute to the transmission of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Method: This was a quasi-experimental study using a nonequivalent control group approach. The sample size was 32 participants. Supportive group education was provided to the intervention group, while the control group received education on sexual norms to address risky behavior. This study used a non-probability sampling method with consecutive sampling. Analysis used an unpaired t-test for the difference in two means. Results: Supportive group therapy demonstrated a significant impact on changes in adolescent sexual behavior in the intervention group compared to the control group. Prior to the intervention, most adolescents in the intervention group engaged in high-risk sexual behavior, but after therapy, this number decreased. Meanwhile, the change in the control group was much smaller, with the average score remaining nearly unchanged (from 14.34 to 13.78). Statistical tests showed a statistically significant difference between the two groups (p-value = 0.027), indicating that supportive group therapy was effective in reducing risky sexual behavior in adolescents. Conclusion: Supportive group therapy with sexual norms education was proven to be significantly effective in reducing risky sexual behavior in adolescents (p-value = 0.027).   Keywords: Adolescent Risk Behavior; Sexual Norms Education; Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs); Supportive Groups. Penentuan sampel sebanyak 32 partisipan.
