Abstract

The low levels of creativity and environmental care among elementary school students are the main issues addressed in this study. Implementing a sustainable lifestyle through the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) is necessary to overcome these challenges. This research focuses on exploring Ecobrick activities within the P5 project as an effort to effectively and sustainably foster students' creativity and environmental awareness. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using instruments such as closed questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation to analyze the implementation of Ecobrick activities in enhancing the creativity and environmental care of elementary school students. Data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing were used in the analysis process. The results of this research show that the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) with the theme of sustainable lifestyle through Ecobrick activities is effective in enhancing elementary school students' creativity. The findings indicate that Ecobrick activities successfully met all student creativity indicators, such as curiosity, questioning skills, generating creative ideas, and independent learning, while also increasing students’ environmental awareness. This research contributes empirical evidence regarding the effectiveness of the P5 project themed on sustainable lifestyle through Ecobrick activities in fostering students' creativity and environmental care. It strengthens theoretical understanding of the benefits of project-based learning in developing student creativity and provides practical guidance for teachers and schools to implement similar activities as part of a curriculum integrated with Pancasila values.

Abstract

Background: Preliminary studies reveal a notable challenge for English teachers: the difficulty in creating learning materials that effectively meet students' needs. In response, researchers have developed innovative listening materials rooted in the local wisdom and religious values of Gresik, utilizing advanced text-to-speech applications. Objective: This initiative aims to empower English teachers in Gresik by sharing research findings related to these materials. Our goal is to enable teachers to implement these resources in their classrooms and inspire them to create their own engaging learning materials using text-to-speech technology. Method: We engaged with four Madrasah Aliyah schools through socialization techniques, concluding with a feedback questionnaire. Results: The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with 95.2% of teachers affirming that the materials aligned with their educational needs. Participants demonstrated significant skill development, transitioning from a lack of knowledge about the application to feeling motivated to create their own resources. Conclusion: This initiative not only enhances teachers’ technical skills but also nurtures their soft skills. By embracing innovative teaching methods, educators are encouraged to tailor learning materials to meet the diverse needs of their students while leveraging Artificial Intelligence to enrich the educational experience.

Abstract

Abdullah Nashih ‘Ulwan presents views on educating children in Islam based on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the book "Tarbiyatul Aulad fil Islam". This book has been translated into various languages and serves as a reference for Islamic child education worldwide, including in Indonesia. The seven points mentioned in the book are faith, morals, physical education, intellect, spiritual education, social education, and sex education. The "kurikulum merdeka" or independent curriculum is the latest curriculum implemented since 2022. The curriculum change started from first grade and fourth grade and has been ongoing for two years, prompting researchers to focus on studying student textbooks in the fourth grade. This study aims to analyze the perspective of Abdullah Nashih Ulwan with the Islamic Religious Education and Character Education books used in Elementary Schools. This research is qualitative in nature, specifically library research, and the gathered data are analyzed using text and language analysis methods, namely content analysis. The results of this research show that there is relevance in the compilation of Islamic religious education and character education books for fourth grade in the independent curriculum, presented in ten chapters with six points previously proposed by Abdullah Nashih ‘Ulwan, while physical education is provided in a separate subject, namely physical education, sports, and health.
