Abstract

Menurut data World Health Organization tahun 2023, sekitar 260.000 ibu meninggal selama masa kehamilan, persalinan, maupun nifas. According to data from the World Health Organization in 2023, approximately 260,000 maternal deaths occurred during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Around 40% of maternal deaths in developing countries are associated with anemia during pregnancy. In Indonesia, maternal deaths were recorded at 4,005 cases in 2022 and increased to 4,129 cases in 2023. The Indonesian Health Profile of 2020 shows that 49% of pregnant women experience anemia, primarily due to iron deficiency. This study aims to determine the effect of administering red guava juice combined with iron (Fe) tablets compared to Fe tablets alone on increasing hemoglobin levels among first-trimester pregnant women at Cimanuk Public Health Center in 2025. The results indicate that mothers who received the combination intervention recovered from mild anemia by day 7, whereas those who consumed only Fe tablets reached normal hemoglobin levels on day 14. In conclusion, the combination of red guava juice and Fe tablets is more effective in increasing hemoglobin levels. It is expected that pregnant women with anemia may consider using dragon fruit juice as an alternative, and future researchers are encouraged to explore variations in nutritional menu options.
