The forecasting technique used in this study is ARIMA. The tests indicated that inflation in East Java will decrease towards the end of the year. In December, East Java will experience deflation of -1.75%. Meanwhile, in January and February 2025, the inflation rates were -2.07 and -2.39, respectively. Therefore, the East Java government must implement policies to anticipate this situation.

Abstract

Abstract

This study analyzes the technical efficiency of health Expenditure Allocation in the Mataraman Region. The method employed in this research is Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). The data used are panel data, covering 12 regencies/cities within the Mataraman area. The aim of this study is to assess whether the available funds have been utilized optimally to improve health services and indicators, such as life expectancy, the Human Development Index (HDI), and the number of births assisted by medical personnel. The results indicate that not all regions have been able to utilize their health budgets efficiently. Some areas have managed their funds effectively, while others still exhibit inefficiencies in budget use. These findings are important as a basis for evaluation and policy improvement, so that future health budgets can have a greater and more equitable impact on the overall well-being of communities across East Java. The analysis results indicate that only Kediri City, Madiun City, and Blitar City consistently achieved perfect efficiency each year. In contrast, most regencies experienced inefficiencies, showing a declining trend in efficiency values over the years despite having large budget allocations.

Abstract

The Human Development Index (HDI) is an important parameter for assessing the extent to which inclusive and equitable development has been achieved, both at the national and regional levels. Madura, an archipelago consisting of four districts, namely Bangakalan, Sampang, Pamekasan, and Sumenep, is an integral part of East Java Province. This study analyzes economic variables, including economic growth, unemployment rates, and poverty, which affect the Human Development Index on Madura Island. The data in this study is panel data from four regencies on Madura Island from 2020 to 2024. The data analysis used in this study is panel analysis. The data used in this study is secondary data sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The results of the analysis show that the variables of poverty and unemployment have a significant effect on the Human Development Index variable on Madura Island. Meanwhile, the economic growth variable has no significant effect on the Human Development Index on Madura Island. Therefore, the district governments in Madura must focus more on eradicating poverty and unemployment in order to improve the Human Development Index in their regions

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the nutritional needs of school children in relation to the Free Nutritious Eating (MBG) policy in Indonesia through a systematic literature review approach. The study was conducted on 26 scientific articles from various countries selected using the PRISMA 2020 method, with the inclusion criteria set include: (1) articles in the last ten years (2015–2025), (2) articles that explicitly discuss the nutritional needs of elementary to secondary school children, (3) articles that examine the contribution of school food programs to the fulfillment of children's nutrition,  and (4) studies that are available in full text and written in English. The results show that school meals consistently make a significant contribution to meeting the needs of energy, protein, iron, calcium, fat, fiber and vitamin D, as well as positively impacting children's cognitive function and reducing the consumption of ultra-processed foods, especially in low-socioeconomic groups. In addition, it was found that the success of the program was greatly influenced by the diversity of menus, children's preferences, physical activity, and public policy support. This research makes an important contribution in formulating evidence-based MBG policies that take into account actual nutritional needs, socio-cultural contexts, and behavioral dynamics of children. In conclusion, MBG has great potential as a national strategy to improve the nutritional status and equal access to food for school children, but its successful implementation requires a multidimensional approach and advanced local studies.

Abstract

Background : Globally, stunting is a malnutrition problem experienced by more than 148.1 million children under five in 2022. Stunting has negative impacts such us cognitive developmental disorders, chronic diseases after adulthood, giving birth to babies with low body weight, and passing on the cycle of malnutrition to the next generation. In East Java, the prevalence of stunting has decreased in the last 10 years. However, this achievement is still not in line with The National Medium Term Development Plan target plan down to 14%. This research aims to analyze the influence of proper sanitation access on stunting prevalence in East Java, Indonesia. Method: This study used quantitative approach analyzed using panel data regression with Pooled Least Square model. The panel consisting of a combination of cross-section and time series data. The data were collected from 38 province in 2019-2023. Result: The result from Pooled obtained a p-value 0,000 (p-value <0.05), which mean that proper sanitation access has a significant effect on the incidence of stunting. Conclusion: Increasing access to proper sanitation can reduce the prevalence of stunting.

Abstract

Oral health is an integral part of overall well-being and significantly impacts quality of life. However, awareness of preventive dental check-ups remains low in many countries, including Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the economic and social determinants influencing individuals' decisions to undergo preventive dental check-ups in Jakarta. A cross-sectional survey design was used, collecting data from selected respondents through structured questionnaires. Independent variables included economic factors (income, health insurance) and social background (age, education level), while the dependent variable was the frequency of preventive dental check-ups. Data analysis employed descriptive statistics and logistic regression. Simultaneous testing reveals that the examined variables influence dental visits (Prob > Chi² = 0.0213) with a low contribution (Pseudo R² = 0.0287), suggesting that economic and demographic factors play a minor role in decision-making. These results highlight the need for health policies that go beyond financial and demographic considerations. Strategies such as raising awareness of the importance of preventive dental care are essential to increasing public access and adherence to oral health practices. This research provides insights for policymakers to design more effective and inclusive health interventions aimed at reducing dental disease prevalence and improving public health, particularly in Jakarta.
