Abstract

Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are common complaints experienced by field workers, especially in industrial sectors such as rubber factories that require heavy, repetitive physical activity and non-ergonomic working postures. These complaints have a negative impact on work productivity and quality of life of workers. This study is a literature review study by reviewing scientific articles from databases such as PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. Inclusion criteria include publications in the last 10 years (2015–2025) that discuss the relationship between risk factors and the incidence of MSDs in field workers in the industrial sector. Articles that are not available in full-text, are of low quality, or are irrelevant were excluded from the analysis. From the results of the review of 20 articles that met the criteria, it was found that the factors most often associated with the incidence of MSDs include ergonomic factors, individual factors. MSDs in rubber factory field workers are influenced by a combination of ergonomic, individual, and psychosocial factors. Prevention can be done through a work ergonomics approach, physical training, provision of work aids, and work stress management.

Abstract

Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are among the most common occupational health problems faced by workers in the agricultural sector, including sugarcane farmers in Indonesia. Excessive physical activity and performed without adequate ergonomic support make this group particularly vulnerable to musculoskeletal injuries. This study aims to synthesize determinant of MSDs among sugarcane farmers and to recommend targeted ergonomic strategies suitable for tropical agricultural environments through a literature review of scientific articles from relevant database. The findings indicate that MSDs are primarily influenced by repetitive work patterns, poor working posture, the use of non-ergonomic traditional tools, and adverse environmental conditions such as high temperatures and humidity. Additionally, psychosocial stress and limited access to ergonomic education and health facilities further exacerbate the condition. The review highlights the urgent need for comprehensive preventive strategies, including ergonomic interventions, occupational health education, improvements in working conditions, and psychosocial support. These efforts are essential to reduce the incidence of MSDs and enhance the occupational well-being of sugarcane farmers. The findings can guide policymakers in designing ergonomic-based agricultural health programs, especially among sugarcane farmers.

Abstract

The purpose of conducting this research is to find out how much influence the management of health facilities has on patient satisfaction at PTPN VII Primary Clinic Office of the Board of Directors. The method used in this research is quantitative with the concept of cross-sectional study. The population in this research is all outpatient PTPN VII Pratama Clinic Office of the Board of Directors in 2022 and the sample collection method uses non-probability sampling with the accidental sampling method. So that a sample of 315 people was obtained. Based on the research results it is known that the P-Value simultaneously is 0.000. As for the partial infrastructure facilities (X1), location (X2), personnel (X3), and pharmacy (X4) variables have a P-Value 0.05, if the probability value is 0.05 so it can be concluded that infrastructure, location, personnel, and pharmacy influence simultaneously and partially on patient satisfaction (Y). Primary Clinics can maintain and improve aspects of manpower related to service and attitudes of officers such as through continuous briefings and outreach regarding a culture of responsive, mutual respect, and empathetic actions.

Abstract

Low Back Pain (LBP) is one of the most common musculoskeletal disorders experienced by agricultural workers, including rubber farmers, due to heavy physical demands, repetitive activities, and non-ergonomic work postures. The high prevalence of LBP among rubber farmers has the potential to reduce work productivity, increase the risk of disability, and negatively impact quality of life. This study aims to review the literature related to the incidence, prevalence, risk factors, and prevention and management efforts for Low Back Pain in rubber farmers. The method used is a literature review by searching for scientific articles through the Google Scholar, PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Garuda databases. The articles included were original studies in Indonesian and English published in the last ten years and discussed LBP in rubber farmers or agricultural workers with similar work characteristics. The results of the study showed that the prevalence of LBP among rubber farmers was relatively high, ranging from 33% to more than 70%. The main risk factors include heavy workloads, non-ergonomic work postures, repetitive work activities, prolonged standing or bending, and working without ergonomic training. Individual factors such as age, length of service, body mass index, and smoking habits also contribute to an increased risk of LBP. Recommended LBP prevention and management efforts include applying ergonomic principles at work, regulating work and rest times, occupational health education, stretching and back muscle strengthening exercises, and controlling individual risk factors. The conclusion of this literature review indicates that LBP among rubber farmers is a multifactorial occupational health problem that requires ergonomic interventions and continuous occupational health promotion.
