Abstract

Education in Vocational High Schools (SMK) plays a vital role not only in developing technical skills but also in shaping character and emotional handling, particularly among adolescents who are vulnerable to internal conflicts. This study was conducted among tenth-grade students of the Visual Communication Design 2 program at SMK Bina Karya Mandiri with the aim of providing psychoeducation on emotional handling and bullying prevention. The intervention was delivered in a single 90-minute session using a classical (lecture-based) approach, involving 38 students. The methods applied included lectures, group discussions, question-and-answer sessions, ice-breaking activities, and psychodrama to promote character development, empathy, and self-control. The results showed an increase in students' understanding of the importance of managing emotions in a healthy manner, recognizing various forms of bullying, and raising awareness of its negative impacts.

Abstract

Low academic performance in mathematics among elementary school students is often associated with the perception that mathematics is difficult and less interesting. One effort to improve learning outcomes is the use of rewards as positive reinforcement for students learning behavior. This study aims to examine the effect of reward provision on elementary school students mathematics academic performance. A quasi-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test control group design was used. The participants were 58 first-grade students, divided into an experimental class (1D) and a control class (1B). Sticker rewards were given to students who obtained scores above the class average for four weeks. Data were collected from daily assignment scores before and after the intervention. The data were analyzed using a t-test with a significance level of 0.05.
