Abstract

Malang City, like many cities in Indonesia, faces complex challenges, especially in access to education, health, and economic opportunities. This research examines strengthening the holistic character of marginalised children in Kedungkandang Sub-district through the Eco-Guardians-based Mission-Based Learning method. This method aims to shape holistic character including emotional, social, and environmental dimensions to create a competitive and environmentally sound young generation. A descriptive qualitative approach was used with data from the non-formal education institution Laskar Belajar, marginalised children, and Brawijaya University creativity programme students, collected through observation, in-depth interviews, questionnaires, and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs). The results showed that the collaboration between students and marginalised children effectively increased engagement and motivation through a mission that focused on character development and environmental awareness. The implementation of this programme improved the quality of character, environmental awareness, and waste management skills of marginalised children. Holistic character education is important to address social and environmental challenges in Kedungkandang. The Eco-Guardians programme offers a comprehensive solution that not only develops character but also improves the economic welfare and environmental awareness of marginalised children. The programme is expected to become a sustainable model of holistic character education to support the achievement of the Golden Generation 2045.

Abstract

Sustainable tourism is a key pillar in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030. This study introduces SINERGISTA (Sinergi Agrowisata) as a digital-based sustainable tourism development strategy through a Pentahelix Connectors collaboration model involving government, academia, business actors, communities, and media. The objective of this research is to formulate an implementable strategy for digital-based agrotourism development aimed at enhancing economic, social, environmental, and cultural value in a sustainable manner. This study employs a descriptive-exploratory approach through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation studies on leading agrotourism destinations in Indonesia. Findings reveal that integrating digitalization into marketing platforms, reservation systems, and virtual reality promotions expands market reach, increases tourist engagement, and facilitates transparent destination management. Moreover, the Pentahelix Connectors collaboration is proven effective in reinforcing synergy among stakeholders in promoting service innovation, improving human resource capacity, and fostering participatory environmental management. Strategic recommendations include strengthening digital literacy among agrotourism actors, ensuring regional government policy support, and providing inclusive and adaptive technological infrastructure.

Abstract

The use of digital technology in the forestry sector is an urgent need to address the challenges of transparency, accountability, and sustainability. Forest seed certification and tracking still face various problems, such as certificate forgery, illegal distribution, and weak public trust in conventional systems. This research developed SEEDTRACK, a blockchain-based digital integration system supported by new and renewable energy (EBT), to produce a transparent, secure, and sustainable seed certification and tracking solution. The research method used a Research and Development (R&D) approach with mixed methods, including literature studies, interviews, FGDs, blockchain architecture design, EBT integration, prototype development, and field trials. The results showed that SEEDTRACK was able to increase seed tracking accuracy by 28%, accelerate the certification process by 35%, and reduce the risk of data manipulation by 40% compared to manual systems. In addition, the EBT integration resulted in 22% higher energy efficiency compared to the conventional system baseline. This system is relevant to achieving the 2030 SDGs, particularly goals 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), 13 (Addressing Climate Change), and 15 (Conserving Terrestrial Ecosystems). Therefore, SEEDTRACK has the potential to become a national model for forest seed management that can be replicated across other natural resource sectors.
