Abstract

This research reviews the relevance of Ali Yafie's thoughts in Islamic banking, considering that he is one of the many figures who contributed to the development of the economy in Indonesia. This research aims to know and understand what are the main points or ideas of Ali Yafie's thoughts in contributing to Islamic banking and to know the relevance of these thoughts today. This research study was explored using descriptive qualitative methods. The results show that the concept of Islamic banking promoted by Ali Yafie is still very relevant and has been implemented in Islamic banking practices in Indonesia. His thoughts emphasize the importance of justice, partnership, and mutual welfare in sharia-based economic activities not just profitability. although not yet as a whole, because there are some things that have not been perfectly realized in practice, Ali Yafie's thoughts have been able to prove that his thoughts are relevant and also direct the implementation of Islamic banking in Indonesia to remain based on sharia principles.

Abstract

Hasan Turabi's thoughts on the fiqh of democracy offer an integrative approach between Islamic principles and modern democratic systems of government. He emphasizes that democracy in Islam must be based on shura (deliberation), which allows for the active participation of the people in political decision-making. In the concept of fiqh of democracy developed, Turabi emphasizes several key aspects, namely the application of sharia through consensus (ijma'), respect for the freedoms and rights of the people, social justice, and separation of powers to prevent authoritarianism. These principles were designed to keep the Islamic political system relevant to the demands of modernity without abandoning the fundamental teachings of the religion. His thought is significant for Muslim countries that are still seeking a balance between Islamic values and contemporary democratic systems. Through a literature review of his works and several related sources, this article explores how fiqh of democracy can be an alternative solution in building a more inclusive, just, and participation-oriented system of government. Thus, Turabi's thoughts can be relevant to be the main reference in efforts to integrate Islam and democracy in modern politics, providing a new perspective in equitable governance.

Abstract

Professional zakat is a form of zakat legal development that adjusts to the development of the modern economy, where most of the income is obtained from the professional sector. Yusuf Qardhawi argues that professional zakat must be issued like agricultural and trade zakat, with the principle of justice and the benefit of the people. The purpose of this study is to provide insight into Yusuf Qardhawi's thinking in contemporary fiqh issues, especially on professional zakat issues. This type of research uses a library research method that relies on literature reviews and several other sources. The results of the study show that Yusuf Qardhawi's ideas make an important contribution to the development of zakat fiqh that is more adaptive to the needs of the times. This research is expected to provide a broader understanding of the concept of professional zakat in the modern Islamic economic system.
