Abstract

During the learning, mathematics education students are taught about various mathematical theories. The material is useful when they become teachers or mathematicians. Mathematics Capita Selecta is one of the elective courses of mathematics education program that aims to help students able to make a study related to the latest mathematics topic. The purpose of this research is to describe the students’ responsibility on the Mathematics Capita Selecta Course with Reciprocal Teaching Strategy based on Ignatian Pedagogy. Implementation of this learning model includes the process of extracting context, experience, reflection, evaluation and action in hope of optimizing the competence, compassion and conscience of students. The competence focus helps students to solve the assignment in the Mathematics Capita Selecta Course well. Whereas in terms of conscience, the design is expected to help students hone responsible attitude. And in terms of compassion, the design is expected to appreciate diversity. Data analysis method used is descriptive qualitative-quantitative. The subjects of this study are students who take the Mathematics Capita Selecta Course in the second semester of 2016-2017. In this course, lecturer use Reciprocal Teaching Strategy, where students in groups are given the task of discussing a mathematics article, presenting in class, and producing new articles. The results of this study is the reciprocal teaching strategy helps students to complete their responsibilities, so that as many as 6 groups can present their articles at the National Conference at Muhammadiyah University Purworejo. This strategy requires students to understand the selected articles and discuss in the classroom. In the aspect of responsibility attitude including very high category. On the student reflection note, almost all students claimed to always strive to serve and be trustworthy when given responsibility. When you have a responsibility, there is no need to force things to remain trustworthy. Students are increasingly willing and able to complete their responsibilities both personally and in groups shown by indicators working together, completing tasks and communicating very high. DOI: https://doi.org/10.24071/ijiet.2018.020209

Abstract

Numbers is an important concept in mathematics and one of the tested materials in TIMSS’s study. One of the efforts to increase students’ ability in solving TIMSS numbers questions is by developing TIMSS model-numbers questions. This current research investigated students’ ability and difficulties in solving TIMSS model-numbers questions, with 31 students in one of junior high schools in Central Java as a sample. Students’ ability in solving TIMSS model-numbers questions was measured by test with 32 multiple choice questions, whereas students’ difficulties when solving those questions were explored by students’ comment sheet. Mean test score indicates that students ability for all content and cognitive domains was moderate. Difficulties experienced by students in solving TIMSS model-numbers questions were misunderstood the meaning of the questions or error in changing fractional forms and making calculations. The results indicated that in addition to having no deep understanding of numbers, students’ opportunity to train their ability in solving TIMSS model-numbers questions was still insufficient.

Abstract

Pelabelan graf merupakan bagian dari graf yang berkembang saat ini. Jenis pelabelan pada graf bergantungpada domainnya, yakni pelabelan sisi ajaib, pelabelan titik ajaib, dan pelabelan total ajaib. Pelabelan totalajaib pada graf dibedakan lagi berdasarkan komponen graf yang dievaluasi, yakni pelabelan total sisi ajaibdan pelabelan total titik ajaib. Pada pelabelan ajaib, bobot dari komponen graf yang dievaluasi adalah sama,jika bobotnya tidak sama maka dinamakan pelabelan tak-ajaib (antimagic). Misalkan G adalah graf denganbanyak titik p dan sisi q. Suatu pemetaan bijektif dari komponen-komponen graf ke bilangan bulat positif {1,2, ..., (p+q)} disebut called (a, d) vertex antimagic total labelling (pelabelan total titik ajaib) dari graf G jikabobot setiap titik (vertex) merupakan barisan aritmetika naik. Pada artikel ini membahas bahwa grafmulticycle mCp memenuhi (a, d) vertex antimagic total labelling dan beberapa bentuk pelabelannya.Kata kunci : graph multicycle, vertex antimagic total labeling

Abstract

Penerapan etnomatematika dalam pendidikan bermanfaat bagi siswa dan diyakini dapat menjadi solusi bagi problematika pendidikan matematika. Etnomatematika menawarkan  pendekatan baru dalam pembelajaran matematika yaitu dengan menggunakan konteks budaya siswa yang telah disesuaikan sebagai media pembelajaran matematika sehingga matematika bisa lebih mudah dipahami. Oleh karena itu penting sekali untuk mengetahui aktivitas fundamental matematika dalam suatu budaya. Meskipun Diba’an sangat populer di kalangan umat Islam, namun sedikit penelitian yang melakukan eksplorasi etnomatematika pada Diba’an. Sebuah meta analisis dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi aktivitas fundamental matematika dan konsep matematika apa saja yang ada pada Diba’an. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian literatur dengan pendekatan etnomatematika. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan studi literatur, dokumentasi dan observasi. Analisis data dilakukan secara interaktif mulai dari pengumpulan data awal  hingga data terakhir dalam tiga tahap, yaitu reduksi data,  menyajikan data, dan penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Data-data  yang telah dikumpulkan, selanjutnya dianalisis  dengan metode analisis deskriptif. Ditemukan aktivitas fundamental matematika pada Diba’an, meliputi : accounting (menghitung), measurement (mengukur), locating (menempatkan), designing (mendesain), playing (bermain), dan  explaining (menjelaskan). Sedangkan konsep matematika yang dapat dihubungkan, meliputi :  konsep  bilangan, operasi bilangan, panjang, luas, volume, himpunan, relasi, fungsi, barisan, deret, lingkaran, tabung, kesebangunan. Dengan memperjelas bagaimana keterkaitan antara aktivitas fundamental matematika  dan konsep matematika,  Diba’an dapat digunakan sebagai konteks budaya dalam pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini menawarkan wawasan kepada pendidik yang ingin menggunakan konteks budaya Diba’an untuk mendorong hasil belajar matematika siswa. Hasil penelitian juga dapat membantu peneliti untuk mengembangkan pendekatan pembelajaran matematika dengan konteks budaya dan mengatasi kesenjangan penelitian dalam konteks yang dapat dihubungkan

Abstract

Proses pembelajaran memerlukan kehadiran inovasi pembelajaran yang lebih menyenangkan berupa kreativitas baru didalamnya. Eksplorasi entomatematika pada budaya seni bela diri pencak silat tapak suci ini dapat menjadi salah satu inovasi baru dalam pembelajaran berupa contoh kontekstual yang bersifat matematis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk 1) mengidentifikasi konsep matematika dalam budaya seni bela diri pencak silat tapak suci, dan 2) memahami bagaimana menganalisis bahan ajar yang dikombinasikan dengan budaya seni bela diri pencak silat tapak suci. Metodologi yang digunakan adalah bentuk penelitian etnografi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan meliputi analisis domain, analisis taksonomi, analisis komposisi, dan analisis tema budaya. Metode pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi terhadap narasumber yaitu pelatih dan atlet pencak silat pada perguruan pencak silat Tapak Suci di Kabupaten Purworejo. Hasil penelitian ini berupa konsep sudut siku-siku, sudut lancip, sudut tumpul, sudut refleksi, dan juga analisis aktivitas matematika yang terdapat pada gerakan jurus dasar seni bela diri pencak silat tapak suci. Hal tersebut adalah konsep matematis yang terdapat pada pencak silat tapak suci yang dapat dimanfaatkan dalam memperkenalkan dan memahami konsep matematika melalui budaya di Indonesia.
