Abstract

Medical imaging process has evolved since 1996 until now. The forming of Computer Aided Diagnostic (CAD) is very helpful to the radiologists to diagnose breast cancer. KNN method is a method to do classification toward the object based on the learning data which the range is nearest to the object. We analysed two types of cancers IDC dan ILC. 10 parameters were observed in 1-10 pixels distance in 145 IDC dan 7 ILC. We found that the Mean of Hm(yd,d) at 1-5 pixeis the only significant parameters that distingguish IDC and ILC. This parameter at 1-5 pixels should be applied in KNN method. This finding need to be tested in diffrerent areas before it will be applied in cancer diagnostic.

Abstract

Breast cancer is a health problem in the world. To overcome this problem requires early detection of breast cancer. The purpose of this study is to classify early breast cancer grades. Combination of physical parameters with k-nearest neighbor Method is proposed to detect early breast cancer grades. The experiments were performed on 87 mammograms consisting of 12 mammograms of grade 1,41 mammograms of grade 2 and 34 mammogram of grade 3. The proposed method was effective to classify the grades of breast cancer by an accuracy of 64.36%, 50% sensitivity and 73,5% specitifity. Physical parameters can be used to classify grades of breast cancer. The results of this study can be used to complement the diagnosis of breast mammography examination.

Abstract

The population administration in Jimbaran Traditional Village faces challenges of inefficiency and data inconsistency due to manual processes, especially in managing unique data structures such as NPK (Family Registration Number), NIKA (Traditional Community Registration Number), and Dadia. To address these issues, a web-based administrative information system was developed using the Prototyping method with the Laravel framework, MySQL database, and an interface built using Tailwind CSS and Alpine.js. The resulting system features key functionalities such as centralized master data management, dynamic input forms with automatic NPK and NIKA numbering, management of Traditional Family Card membership, and an integrated correspondence service module. The implementation results demonstrate that this application successfully serves as a functional solution for centralizing data, accelerating administrative services, and enhancing the accuracy of population data in accordance with the specific needs of the traditional village.

Abstract

Bali Island is located in an active tectonic zone due to the meeting of the Indo-Australian and Eurasian Plates, thus experiencing significant seismic activity. This study aims to analyze the seismicity characteristics, distribution, and magnitude of peak ground acceleration (PGA), and evaluate earthquake risk in Bali Island. Earthquake data for the period 1980–2023 were analyzed based on spatial and temporal distributions and the Gutenberg-Richter equation to assess the relationship between earthquake frequency and magnitude. The analysis results show that Bali's seismicity is dominated by shallow earthquakes (<60 km) with moderate magnitudes (4.5 ≤ M < 6.0) to large magnitudes (M ≥ 6.0). The highest earthquake density is in the Central and Eastern regions of Bali with an earthquake density reaching 0.02 events/km². PGA values range from low to exceed 0.4 g, especially in the Central and Southeast regions associated with active faults and the Southern subduction zone. These findings provide an important basis for spatial planning, earthquake-resistant building structure design, and earthquake risk mitigation strategies on the island of Bali.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the potential risk of thoracic organ cancer in CT Scan examinations using the Size-Specific Effective Dose (SSED) method, considering the importance of accurate radiation dose measurement to minimize the risk of cancer due to radiation exposure. The analysis was conducted on 30 female patients and 30 male patients in the adult category (17 - 45 years) at the Radiology Installation of Prof. Dr. I G. N. G. Ngoerah Hospital, Denpasar, using a descriptive quantitative approach with secondary data. The results showed that the Size-Specific Dose Estimate (SSDE) and SSED values in female patients were 6.51 ± 0.70 mGy and 2.95 ± 0.48 mSv, respectively, while in male patients they were 6.38 ± 0.49 mGy and 2.27 ± 0.26 mSv. The risk of cancer in female patients is estimated at 0.016% and in male patients it is 0.012%. The Anova test showed a significant difference between the dose values of the SSDE and SSED methods, which was caused by SSED only considering the dose of organs covered in the CT Scan image. However, the t-test showed that the doses from both methods did not exceed the BAPETEN standard No. 8 of 2011, so that the thoracic CT Scan examination in this Installation is safe and feasible to use.

Abstract

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is widely used to evaluate spinal pathology, with image quality strongly influenced by acquisition parameters such as the Field of View (FOV). This study investigates the effect of small FOV adjustments on the Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) and Contrast-to-Noise Ratio (CNR) in axial T2-weighted Fast Spin Echo (FSE) lumbar spine MRI. This study offers one of the quantitative evaluations of clinically realistic FOV variations, addressing a gap between routine protocol adjustments and evidence-based image quality optimization. This experimental study prospectively examined thirty patients undergoing routine lumbar spine MRI using a Philips Ingenia CX 1.5T system. Axial T2-weighted FSE images were acquired with three FOV settings (170 mm × 170 mm, 190 mm × 190 mm, and 210 mm × 210 mm), while all other imaging parameters were kept constant. Image quality was assessed by measuring mean signal intensities in standardized regions of interest (ROIs) placed in the intervertebral disc, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), and surrounding fat tissue, from which SNR and CNR were calculated and statistically compared across FOV settings. The results showed increasing trends in SNR and CNR with larger FOV values; however, these differences were not statistically significant (p > 0.05), indicating that small FOV enlargements produce minimal voxel size changes and negligible effects on image quality. Clinically, these findings suggest that minor FOV adjustments can be safely applied to accommodate patient anatomy or positioning without compromising image quality, while larger FOV changes are required to achieve meaningful improvements in SNR and CNR.
