Abstract

Silver nanoparticles can be synthesized using biosynthesis methods assisted by plant extracts and can be applied as antibacterials. Hence, this study aimed to synthesize silver nanoparticles from different concentrations of AgNO3 precursor solutions using ethanol extract from fennel leaves. The influences of various AgNO3 concentrations and the volume ratios of AgNO3 solutions and leaf extracts on the activities were observed. The samples were investigated using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer, and the Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) absorbance was attained at 410-415 nm, representing the silver nanoparticle formation. The findings showed that the optimal ratio of precursor solution and extract was 10:1. In contrast, the optimal temperature was at 70 ° C. The size of nanoparticles was estimated using the Particle Size Analyzer (PSA), exhibiting that the different AgNO3 concentrations did not significantly change their sizes. The yields demonstrated that the antioxidant activities for nanoparticles synthesized with AgNO3 concentrations of 0.001 and 0.005 M were 153.56 ± 0.09 μg/mL and 0.005 M 111.42 ± 0.15μg/mL, respectively. The results showed higher inhibition zones of antibacterial activity obtained by silver nanoparticles with 0.005 M AgNO3 as compared to those of 0.001 M AgNO3.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kekurangan Energi Kronik (KEK) menjadi salah satu permasalahan gizi yang sering dialami ibu hamil, terutama di wilayah perdesaan dengan akses informasi kesehatan yang terbatas. Rendahnya pemahaman mengenai kebutuhan nutrisi, tanda bahaya kehamilan, serta pentingnya pemeriksaan antenatal menjadi faktor yang berkontribusi terhadap tingginya angka KEK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas edukasi berbasis board game dalam meningkatkan pemahaman ibu hamil terkait KEK dan kesehatan kehamilan. Desain penelitian menggunakan pra-eksperimen dengan pendekatan one group pretest-posttest yang melibatkan 10 ibu hamil trimester II–III di Puskesmas Ngargoyoso, Karanganyar. Media edukasi yang digunakan adalah Board Game Spin Wheel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman pada seluruh responden. Secara keseluruhan, terjadi peningkatan pemahaman sebesar 80% setelah diberikan intervensi. Media board game efektif digunakan sebagai metode edukasi dalam meningkatkan pemahaman ibu hamil mengenai KEK, nutrisi kehamilan, dan tanda bahaya kehamilan, serta berpotensi menjadi strategi edukatif yang aplikatif dalam upaya pencegahan KEK di tingkat layanan kesehatan primer. Kata Kunci: Board game, Ibu Hamil, Kekurangan Energi Kronik.  ABSTRACT Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) is one of the nutritional problems commonly experienced by pregnant women, particularly in rural areas with limited access to health information. Low levels of understanding regarding nutritional needs, danger signs of pregnancy, and the importance of antenatal care contribute to the high prevalence of CED. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of board-game-based education in improving pregnant women’s understanding of CED and maternal health. The study employed a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach involving 10 pregnant women in their second to third trimester at Ngargoyoso Public Health Center, Karanganyar. The educational media used was the Spin Wheel Board Game. The findings showed an increase in understanding among all participants. Overall, there was an 80% improvement in knowledge after the intervention was provided. The board-game media proved effective as an educational method for enhancing pregnant women’s understanding of CED, pregnancy nutrition, and danger signs of pregnancy, and has the potential to serve as an applicable educational strategy for preventing CED in primary healthcare settings. Keywords: Board Game, Chronic Energy Deficiency, Pregnant Women.
