Abstract

Indonesia’s low numeracy performance in international assessments highlights the need for more effective and engaging instructional strategies. This study analyzed the influence of the Quizizz application on supporting the numeracy ability of junior high school students in Bengkulu City. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 70 students through a Likert-scale questionnaire measuring ten indicators of Quizizz utilization. Multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS 25 revealed that the model was statistically significant (F = 3.303; p = 0.002), with the independent variables collectively explaining 36.3% of the variance in numeracy skills (Adjusted R² = 0.253). Two indicators—conceptual understanding (x1) and critical–creative thinking (x5)—significantly affected numeracy ability, whereas other indicators showed no partial influence. The model met classical assumption requirements, including linearity and homoscedasticity. These findings confirm that Quizizz is an effective digital learning tool that enhances students’ numeracy through interactive and motivating learning experiences.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the development of junior high school students' mathematical creative thinking abilities through a STEM project based on a flood phenomenon model. The mathematical creative thinking skills studied include four indicators: fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach and was conducted at SMP Negeri 10 Bengkulu City in the even semester of the 2025/2026 academic year with 32 eighth-grade students divided into eight groups. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and semi-structured interviews, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the STEM project based on flooding phenomena was able to facilitate the development of students' mathematical creative thinking skills. The fluency aspect was seen in students' ability to identify various factors causing flooding in a coherent and clear manner. The flexibility aspect was seen when students tried various alternative solutions and used measurement results as a basis for model improvement. The originality aspect emerged through model design ideas developed based on each group's thinking. Meanwhile, the elaboration aspect is evident in students' ability to explain in detail the design process, simulation, and analysis of measurement results. Thus, the flood-based STEM project learning provides a contextual, meaningful learning experience that supports the development of students' mathematical creativity.

Abstract

Permasalahan sampah di lingkungan sekolah dasar masih menjadi tantangan yang perlu diatasi dengan pendekatan kreatif dan edukatif. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kesadaran siswa SD 53 Kota Bengkulu terhadap pentingnya menjaga kebersihan lingkungan melalui media sastra, khususnya puisi. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan secara partisipatif dengan tahapan: pemberian edukasi singkat mengenai jenis dan dampak sampah, pembacaan puisi bertema lingkungan oleh guru, serta pembacaan puisi secara bergiliran oleh siswa. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas VI antusias mengikuti proses, mulai dari menyimak materi hingga berpartisipasi dalam pembacaan puisi. Selain meningkatkan keterampilan berbahasa, kegiatan ini juga menumbuhkan rasa percaya diri, kemampuan berekspresi, serta kesadaran untuk tidak membuang sampah sembarangan. Dengan demikian, puisi terbukti dapat menjadi media efektif dalam mendukung pendidikan lingkungan sekaligus memperkuat pembelajaran kontekstual di sekolah dasar. Program pengabdian ini diharapkan menjadi inspirasi bagi guru dan sekolah lain untuk mengintegrasikan kreativitas bahasa dan sastra dalam menanamkan nilai peduli lingkungan sejak dini.
