Abstract

ABSTRACT This article examines "Managerial Efficacy of Leaders in Developing New Institutions in Muhammadiyah Boarding School Karang Ringin II Muba" with the aim of understanding the role of managerial efficacy of leaders in the development of new educational institutions in the midst of contemporary educational challenges. Using a qualitative approach with the type of case study, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results show that leaders with high managerial effectiveness are able to manage their own potential and resources, improve teacher skills, adapt to changes in the environment, and implement flexible and adaptive leadership strategies. The implications of these findings underscore the importance of developing the capacity of leaders in the management of educational institutions and implementing innovative strategies to overcome existing challenges. The proposed suggestions include the need for ongoing training and professional development programs for leaders and teachers to improve the efficacy and quality of education in institutions. This research is expected to provide valuable insights for stakeholders in the world of education to create a quality and sustainable institution. Abstract

Manajemen Berbasis Sekolah (MBS) merupakan paradigma pengelolaan pendidikan yang menekankan pemberian otonomi kepada sekolah dalam mengelola sumber daya, proses pembelajaran, dan pengambilan keputusan secara mandiri, partisipatif, dan akuntabel. Kepemimpinan kepala sekolah menjadi faktor penentu utama keberhasilan implementasi MBS dalam mewujudkan mutu pendidikan yang unggul dan berkelanjutan. Artikel ini mengkaji peran kepemimpinan dalam MBS, jenis kepemimpinan yang relevan, tantangan yang dihadapi, serta strategi peningkatan efektivitas kepemimpinan. Melalui kajian pustaka dari berbagai sumber, artikel menegaskan bahwa kepemimpinan transformasional dan partisipatif menjadi kunci keberhasilan MBS. Pengembangan kapasitas kepala sekolah, pemanfaatan teknologi, dan dukungan stakeholder menjadi faktor pendukung penting. Kajian literatur menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan transformasional dan partisipatif mampu meningkatkan kinerja sekolah secara signifikan. Selain itu, pemberdayaan guru dan pemanfaatan teknologi informasi menjadi faktor pendukung penting. Penelitian terdahulu menguatkan bahwa motivasi dan kompetensi kepemimpinan kepala sekolah sangat memengaruhi mutu pendidikan (Al-Fatih & Hayati, 2023; Annur et al., 2019). Implikasi strategis disarankan untuk penguatan kapasitas kepala sekolah melalui pelatihan berkelanjutan dan kolaborasi yang melibatkan seluruh pemangku kepentingan

Abstract

The capacity of the principal in transformational leadership is essential to motivate and improve the professionalism of teachers in the classroom. The purpose of this study is to find out how transformational leadership improves teacher professionalism in SD Negeri 7 Talang Ubi. The principal as a leader plays many roles in the sustainability of the quality of education in schools. In their capacity as educators, teachers play a crucial role in interacting with and serving pupils. Transformational leadership is when a leader is considered to bring solutions to keep up with changing times. Methods used in This research are qualitative by collecting data through several techniques such as interviews, documentation, and field observations the triangulation method in this study. The collected data is then reduced according to the focus of the research, analyzed, and concluded. The principal, vice principal, teachers, and other staff members participated in this study. Current results show that transformational leadership is the most effective characteristic of a leader. By applying transformational leadership values, teachers' motivation to improve competence and professionalism increases by participating in various routine school activities, providing opportunities for teachers to express their opinions and direct teachers in their work positively impacting teacher behaviors.
