<![CDATA[The study aimed to improve the short story writing skills of fifth-grade students at SDN 2 Telaga, Gorontalo Regency. This study utilized a classroom action research type. Data collection techniques included tests, observation, and documentation. Initial observations showed that out of 19 students, only 5 (26%) were able to write short stories, while 14 students (73%) had not yet acquired the skill. In the first cycle, first meeting, 8 students (42%) demonstrated the ability to write short stories, while 11 students (58%) did not. In the second meeting of the first cycle, 12 students (63%) were able to write short stories, with 7 students (37%) still unable. In the second cycle, the result improved, where 16 students (84%) succeeded in writing short stories, while only 3 students (16%) had not yet achieved the expected competence. Based on the findings and discussion, it can be concluded that the use of concrete media effectively enhances the short story writing skills of fifth-grade students at SDN 2 Telaga, Gorontalo Regency. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis cerita pendek melalui media konkret pada siswa kelas V SDN 2 Telaga Kabupaten Gorontalo. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah tes, observasi dan dokumentasi. Pada observasi awal dari 19 siswa hanya 5 yang mampu menulis cerita pendek atau 26%, sedangkan yang belum mampu ada 14 siswa atau 73%. Pada siklus I pertemuan I dari 19 siswa ada 8 siswa atau 42% yang mampu menulis cerita pendek dan 11 siswa atau 58% yang belum mampu. Pelaksanaan siklus I pertemuan II dari 19 siswa yang mampu menulis cerita pendek 12 siswa atau 63% dan 7 siswa atau 37% yang belum mampu. Sedangkan pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan dari 19 siswa yang mampu menulis cerita pendek 16 atau 84% dan yang belum 3 siswa atau 16%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan melalui media konkret dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis cerita pendek pada siswa kelas V SDN 2 Telaga kabupaten Gorontalo.]]>
