Abstract

University libraries are required to adapt to the development of information technology, including the management of membership data. At University XYZ, the integration process between the library system (OpenBiblio) and the academic system (SALAM) has been operational since 2020; however, it has not been fully optimized, particularly for postgraduate students. This study aims to identify factors that support and hinder information technology governance in the integration of membership data, and to formulate strategic steps to strengthen library membership services. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews and observations of the PTIPD unit and the library's IT department. The results showed that policy support for digitization, communication between parties, and data injection routines were the main driving factors. On the other hand, limited human resources, lack of standard procedures, and weak coordination are significant obstacles. This research presents a cross-unit collaborative approach as a response to these problems, including the establishment of cross-unit work teams, periodic coordination forums, and the preparation of shared performance indicators (collaborative KPIs). This research confirms that effective IT governance is not only determined by technical aspects, but also by the quality of coordination and synergy between units in the organization..Perpustakaan perguruan tinggi dituntut untuk mampu beradaptasi dengan perkembangan teknologi informasi, termasuk dalam pengelolaan data keanggotaan.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how students' psychological needs, namely autonomy, competence, and relatedness, can be met or hindered in using the CANDIL (Maca Dina Digital Library) application, using the Self-Determination Theory (SDT) approach. The method used is qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The results showed that the autonomy aspect tends to be fulfilled even though it is limited by the variety of collections, the competence aspect is still constrained by features that -are confusing for some students who use the CANDIL. It can also be seen that the relatedness aspect is still not maximized due to the lack of interaction space between users. In conclusion, although the CANDIL application has provided easy access and some support for reading interest for students using the CANDIL, the fulfillment of the three psychological needs has not been maximized. This shows that strategies to increase interest in reading in the digital era do not simply rely on adequate technology, but must also consider psychological or motivational factors that can affect the experience and increase interest in reading for users.
