Abstract

This study aims to obtain the determinants related to optimizing the emotional intelligence of elementary school students through drama-based learning. Emotional intelligence (EQ) has an important role in the academic and social development of students, where drama as a learning medium can improve empathy, emotional control, and students' social skills. The method used is a literature study with a qualitative approach to explore the contribution of drama in learning Indonesian in high school. The results of the study of ten research objects show that the determinants of success include the right implementation strategy, managing challenges during learning, and solutions applied to optimize drama character skills. The results of the study show that drama skills can effectively support the development of students' emotional intelligence if applied with the right strategy, such as selecting relevant scripts, role guidance, and post-performance reflection. The challenges that arise include time constraints, lack of teacher training, and variations in student characters. Thus, the integration of drama in learning Indonesian is an effective strategy to develop students' emotional intelligence, while supporting the improvement of the quality of holistic and meaningful learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of social media use on the academic achievement of upper-grade elementary school students. The method employed is a literature review, gathering data from books, articles, scholarly journals, and other primary statistical sources. The analysis process proceeds through three stages: grouping relevant literature, summarizing the data into a unified whole, and examining key information within each source. The findings indicate that students’ use of social media exerts both positive and negative effects on their learning outcomes. On the positive side, social media can serve as a learning tool, an information resource, and a means to develop students’ creativity and academic skills. Conversely, the negative impacts include disruptions to concentration, decreased motivation to study, dependence on gadgets, and exposure to age-inappropriate content. To minimize these adverse effects, active involvement from parents and teachers is required to monitor and guide social media use responsibly. With proper supervision, social media can become an effective educational support for elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of interactive educational game media in increasing students' learning motivation in Social Sciences (IPS) subjects in elementary schools through a literary study approach. The background of the study is based on the low interest of students in learning IPS which still uses many conventional methods such as lectures. In facing these challenges, interactive learning media, especially educational games, are considered capable of creating a more enjoyable, meaningful, and contextual learning atmosphere. This study was conducted by reviewing various sources of literature from journals and relevant research reports in the last 5-10 years. The results of the analysis show that the use of interactive educational game media has a positive and significant effect on increasing students' learning motivation, both through increasing active involvement, learning interest, and learning outcomes. Thus, the application of interactive educational game media is an effective learning strategy to increase learning motivation in IPS learning at the elementary school level, and can be an innovative solution in creating a more lively and relevant learning experience for students.

Abstract

This study aims to examine various strategies used by teachers to increase reading interest in elementary school students, and to analyze the effectiveness of these strategies. By understanding the approaches used by teachers and their impact on students' reading habits, it is hoped that this study can contribute to the development of more literate and innovative educational practices. The results of the study showed that teachers implemented various strategies to increase students' reading interest, including story-based learning, the use of visual and digital media, giving creative reading assignments, and getting used to reading before lessons began. These strategies have been proven to be able to gradually increase students' reading interest and encourage their active involvement in the learning process. Supporting factors in implementing the strategy include the availability of interesting reading materials and support from the school. Inhibiting factors include the lack of adequate library facilities and students' low initial interest in reading activities. This study concludes that the role of teachers is very important in shaping a culture of literacy in elementary schools. Therefore, it is recommended that schools provide further training for teachers in developing literacy strategies, as well as increasing the provision of supporting facilities to support the continuous increase in students' reading interest.
