Abstract

The article aims to explore the role of the Indonesian Ulama Council in the 2024 election contestation through election posts on Instagram. This study was conducted using the content analysis method. Data sources were obtained from the Indonesian Ulama Council's Instagram account. The data was obtained by observing posts from September 2023 to March 2024. The data obtained was then analyzed with three stages of qualitative analysis: data reduction, data display, and conclusion. Based on the data analysis, this study found that substantially, the election content posted by the Indonesian Ulama Council on Instagram is about peaceful elections and Muslim participation in elections. The study also found that the posting of election-related fatwas by the Indonesian Ulama Council on Instagram aims to raise awareness and encourage Muslims to exercise their voting rights in the election. Based on these findings, election-related posts by the Indonesian Ulama Council on Instagram represent the involvement of religious institutions in political contestation and the embodiment of ideological roles as a driving force for the successful implementation of elections in Indonesia.

Abstract

This article explores the foundational principles of Islamic educational management through the Qur’anic interpretations of Tafsir Al-Misbah by M. Quraish Shihab. Responding to the contemporary challenges of globalization and the urgency to ground education in Qur’anic values, the study employs a library research method with a descriptive-qualitative approach. The analysis focuses on three key principles: justice (Q.S. Ar-Rahman: 7–9), sincerity (Q.S. Al-Bayyinah: 5), and trustworthiness (Q.S. An-Nisa’: 58). The findings indicate that justice ensures equity and inclusivity in managing educational resources and policies; sincerity provides a moral and spiritual foundation that enhances dedication and integrity; while trustworthiness underscores accountability in leadership and the fulfillment of responsibilities. The study not only enriches theoretical discourse by offering a tafsir-based framework for Islamic educational management but also provides practical implications for shaping institutional vision, mission, and governance in alignment with Islamic values.

Abstract

Waqf is a form of worship and is also one of the pillars of the Islamic economy which has the potential to improve community welfare and overcome the problem of poverty. One of the laws governing waqf in Indonesia is Law No. 41 of 2004. Futures Waqf is an innovation in modern Islamic economics, aligning Islamic economic principles with contemporary developments. This research provides an understanding of the evolution of Islamic economics and efforts to encourage the implementation of Islamic economic principles in ever-changing global dynamics. In this research the author uses a qualitative method with a normative juridical approach. This law is the basis that waqf can be forever and can also have a term. This is very different from what is regulated by Islamic waqf law which tends to be less directed towards economic empowerment of the people and is only used for religious activities such as building mosques, prayer rooms, schools and cemeteries. This evaluation provides an in-depth impact on how the effectiveness of this regulation can increase the economic benefits of Term Waqf, encourage sustainable economic growth, and support the achievement of sharia economic development goals in Indonesia.

Abstract

Poverty is a serious challenge faced by many countries throughout the world, including Indonesia. This phenomenon is a big responsibility for the government so it is necessary to find comprehensive solutions to achieve sustainable development goals. One method of approach that is currently being intensively discussed is through the productive waqf pattern. Productive waqf applies the concept of productivity to waqf assets so that it is hoped that it will be able to make a significant contribution to poverty alleviation. This research identifies the strategies applied by the government in promoting productive waqf, namely through policy regulations, outreach to the community and efficient management. The results of this research show that the government's contribution to realizing sustainable development goals through productive waqf is very important. Productive waqf can optimize current waqf assets and increase public awareness of waqf with new innovations, namely cash waqf and share waqf. Effective supervision and transparency in the use of waqf funds are challenges that must be overcome.
