Abstract

Adolescence is a crucial period in individual development, during which students begin to face academic pressure and complex family dynamics. Family function plays a significant role in supporting student subjective well-being. however, challenges such as poor communication, lack of emotional support, and interfamily conflicts can hinder a child's development. Simultaneously, students are also confronted with high academic demands, potentially leading to stress and feelings of inadequacy. This study aims to examine the influence of family function and academic resilience on student subjective well-being among students of SMP Muhammadiyah 48 Cikupa, Tangerang Regency. This is a quantitative study involving 169 students selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using the Student Subjective Well-Being Questionnaire (SSWQ), the Family Functioning Questionnaire (FFQ), and the Academic Resilience Scale (ARS). The analysis revealed a t-value of 11.247 for the effect of family function on student subjective well-being and a t-value of 12.831 for the effect of academic resilience. The F-value of 93.053 indicates a significant joint influence of family function and academic resilience on student subjective well-being. With an R. Square value of 0.529, the findings suggest that family function and academic resilience, contribute effectively to 52.9% of the vanance in student subjective well-being while the remaining 47.1% is influenced by other unexamined factors. These findings highlight the importance of a supportive family environment and the development of academic resilience in helping students navigate academic stress and maintain psychological well-being.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the correlation between loneliness and adjustment among students from Camis studying at Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. Migrant students often face various challenges, including feelings of loneliness, which may impact their ability to adapt to a new environment. Adjustment in this study refers to seven aspects based on Schneiders theory (1955), while loneliness is measured using the UCLA Loneliness Scale (Russell, 1996). A quantitative approach with a correlational method was employed. The sample consisted of 118 Clamis-origin migrant students selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included a modified and validated adjustment scale and loneliness scale. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation with the assistance of SPSS version 25. The results revealed a significant negative correlation between loneliness and adjustment among the migrant students, which indicates that the higher the level of loneliness experienced by the students, the lower their level of adjustment, and vice versa. These findings suggest that loneliness is an influential factor in the success of migrant students adjustment within the campus environment

Abstract

Education is a process that is needed to achieve perfection and balance in a person"s development. During their education at school, students have responsibilities and duties that must be fulfilled, namely to learn and be involved in activities at school. One of the factors that affect student involvement is the attachment of students to their peers. A stable friendship will affect the student"s activeness in the classroom. This study aims to empirically examine the relationship between peer attachment and student engagement in grade XI students of SMAN 5 Purwokerto. The method used in this study is a quantitative approach, with a sample of 194 students taken by simple random sampling. The results of the hypothesis test found that the Pearson correlation value was 0.405 with p 0.000. This means that there is a positive relationship of 40.5% between peer attachment and student engagement. So, it can be concluded that there is a positive relationship between peer attachment and student engagement, where the higher the student"s peer attachment, the more student engagement will also increase. Pendidikan adalah sebuah proses yang dibutuhkan guna mendapatkan kesempurnaan dan keseimbangan dalam perkembangan seseorang. Selama menjalani masa pendidikan di persekolahan, siswa- siswi memiliki tanggung jawab dan tugas yang harus dipenuhi, yaitu untuk belajar dan terlibat dalam aktivitas di sekolah. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi keterlibatan siswa adalah kelekatan siswa dengan teman sebayanya. Hubungan pertemanan yang stabil akan mempengaruhi keaktifan siswa di dalam kelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji secara empiris hubungan antara peer attachment dengan student engagement pada siswa kelas XI SMAN 5 Purwokerto. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pendekatan kuantitatif, dengan sampel sebanyak 194 siswa diambil dengan cara simple random sampling. Hasil uji hipotesis mendapatkan bahwa nilai pearson correlation sebesar 0,405 dengan p 0,000. Artinya terdapat hubungan positif sebesar 40,5% antara peer attachment dengan student engagement. Maka, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif antara peer attachment dengan student engagement, dimana semakin tinggi peer attachment siswa maka akan semakin meningkat juga student engagement siswa tersebut.
