Abstract

In mathematics study, problem solving is an activity that plays an important role when learning mathematics. In the process of learning mathematics, it is important to apply models, methods and media that are appropriate to students' needs to support more interesting and easy-to-understand learning. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Guided Inquiry learning model assisted by ANVIPI media on the problem-solving abilities of fourth grade elementary school students. This study uses a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design, the population in this study were students of SDN Susukan 01 and the sample in this study was class IV A as the experimental class while class IV B as the control class. Data collection techniques were in the form of tests and non-tests. The results of the study showed that there was a significant difference between the experimental and control classes. The average posttest score of the experimental group (75.64) was higher than the control class (72.79). The results of the Paired Sample T-test analysis showed a significance value of 0.00 <0.05, with the average pretest and posttest results of the experimental class showing 67.42 and 72.79. Therefore, it can be seen that there is an average increase between the pretest results and the posttest results of 5.37. This shows that the Guided Inquiry learning model has increased students' problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

In mathematics learning, problem solving is an important activity when learning mathematics. In mathematics learning, the right media according to the learning model can make the learning process more interesting, easier to understand, according to students' needs. This study aims to examine the effect of the Number Head Together learning model (NHT) assisted by the comic media "flat wake adventure" on the problem-solving abilities of 3rd grade elementary school students. This study uses a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design, the population in this study is Ketapang 01 Elementary School and the sample in this study is class IIIA as the experimental class while class IIIB as the control class. Data collection techniques are in the form of tests and non-tests. The results of the study showed that there was a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. The average post-test score of the experimental group (86.37) was higher than the control group (79.58). Independent Sample T-test analysis showed a significance value of 0.00 <0.05, this indicates that learning using the Numbered Head Together model assisted by the comic media "flat wake adventure" and the Numbered Head Together model without the comic media "flat wake adventure" resulted in differences in the problem-solving abilities of grade III students. Regression test analysis showed a significance level of 0.001 <0.05. indicating that the Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning model assisted by the comic media "flat wake adventure" has an influence on students' problem-solving abilities

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences and effects of implementing the Inquiry Learning model assisted by the "Papan Tambah Ajaib" media on the mathematical concept comprehension abilities of 2nd-grade elementary school students. The main problem underlying this study is the low conceptual understanding of students at SD Negeri Pagersari 02, which is still below the Learning Achievement Criteria (KKTP), as well as the learning process that tends to be teacher-centered without the use of concrete media. The research method used is a quantitative approach with an experimental method. Data collection instruments include tests (pretest and posttest), questionnaires, observations, and interviews. Data analysis techniques are carried out using the Independent Sample T-test to see differences between groups and the Simple Linear Regression test to determine the influence of variables. The research results indicate that there is a significant difference between the students' conceptual understanding abilities in the experimental class and the control class, proven by a calculated significance value of 0.001 < 0.05. Furthermore, the simple linear regression test produced a significance value of 0.027 < 0.05 and an F value of 5.778, which means that the Inquiry Learning model assisted by the Magic Addition Board media has a positive and significant effect on students' conceptual understanding abilities. Thus, the implementation of this model and media is very efficient and effective in improving the quality of mathematics learning in grade 2 elementary school.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Inquiry Based Learning learning model assisted by Mathematics Smart Cards on the problem-solving abilities of third-grade elementary school students. This study uses a quantitative method with a Quasi Experimental Design method. The population in this study were all students of SDN Harjosari 01, with a sample of class III A of 26 students as the experimental class and class III B of 27 students as the control class. Data collection techniques were carried out through test techniques (pretest and posttest) and non-test (observation, interviews, and documentation). The results of the study showed that: (1) there was a significant difference based on the results of the Independent Sample t-test with a significance value of 0.015 < 0.05; (2) the Inquiry Based Learning learning model assisted by Mathematics Smart Cards had a significant influence on students' problem-solving abilities based on the results of a simple linear regression test with a significance value of 0.015 < 0.05; and (3) the Inquiry Based Learning learning model assisted by Mathematics Smart Cards effectively improved students' problem-solving abilities. This is demonstrated by the average posttest score (0.384) in the experimental class, which was higher than the posttest score (0.293) in the control class. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the Inquiry-Based Learning model assisted by Mathematics Smart Cards is effective in improving student problem-solving.

Abstract

Elementary students need mathematical problem-solving skills to understand information, plan strategies, execute procedures, and evaluate solutions. Preliminary data at SD Negeri 1 Gondangwayang showed that the average achievement of fifth-grade students on Polya’s problem-solving indicators was only 38%, indicating the need for more active and technology-supported learning. This study examined differences in problem-solving ability and the effect of the discovery learning model assisted by interactive video. A quantitative quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design was employed. The sample comprised 40 fifth-grade students selected through purposive sampling, with 20 students in the experimental class and 20 in the control class. The experimental class received discovery learning supported by interactive video, whereas the control class received discovery learning without interactive video. Data were collected using essay tests, questionnaires, observation sheets, and student worksheets. The instruments were tested for validity and reliability; the test reliability coefficient was 0.889. Data analysis included Shapiro–Wilk normality tests, Levene homogeneity tests, an independent-samples t-test, and simple linear regression. The experimental class obtained a higher posttest mean than the control class (87.75 versus 68.00). The difference was significant, t(38)=10.503, p<0.000. Regression analysis yielded β=0.862, t=10.503, p<0.000, with R²=0.744. Thus, discovery learning assisted by interactive video significantly improved fifth-grade students’ mathematical problem-solving ability.

Abstract

The mathematical conceptual understanding of lower-grade elementary school students remains relatively low due to less contextual learning processes. This study aimed to examine the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model assisted by interactive cartoon measurement video media (known as Vikairan) on the conceptual understanding of second-grade elementary school students. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically utilizing the non-equivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of second-grade students, with class 2B designated as the experimental group and class 2A as the control group. Data were collected through conceptual understanding test scores. The data analysis revealed a significant difference in conceptual understanding between the two classes (p = 0.018 < 0.05), with the experimental group’s mean score (68.10) being higher than that of the control group (63.70). Meanwhile, the regression analysis indicated that the student response questionnaire scores did not exert a significant influence on their conceptual understanding (p = 0.315 > 0.05). This study concludes that implementing the CTL model assisted by Vikairan interactive cartoon video media is effective in improving the mathematical conceptual understanding of second-grade students. Practically, the collaboration between this contextual model and interactive audiovisual media offers a viable solution for teachers to reduce student boredom and facilitate the visualization of abstract mathematical concepts in lower grades.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are one of the essential competencies that elementary school students need to develop in mathematics learning. However, students' critical thinking skills remain relatively low due to the limited use of innovative learning models and interactive learning media. This study aimed to determine the differences and the effect of the Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) learning model assisted by Video Interaktif Bilangan Cacah (VIINCAH) on the critical thinking skills of fifth-grade elementary school students. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The study was conducted at SD Negeri Klepu 03 as the experimental class and SD Negeri Klepu 01 as the control class. Data were collected through tests, observations, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests, Independent Sample t-test, and simple linear regression. The results showed a significant difference in students' critical thinking skills between the experimental and control classes, as indicated by the Independent Sample t-test with a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). The experimental class achieved a higher posttest mean score (79.50) than the control class (61.69). Furthermore, the regression analysis showed a significance value of 0.000 with an R Square value of 0.588, indicating that the AIR learning model assisted by VIINCAH contributed 58.8% to students' critical thinking skills. Therefore, the AIR learning model assisted by VIINCAH is effective in improving elementary school students' mathematical critical thinking skills
