Abstract

This community service program aims to increase the capacity of mosque zakat management through training intervention of Madrasah Amil Zakat in Gempol sub-district, Pasuruan district. The Participatory Action Research (PAR) method was applied in the research by involving all participants consisting of mosque takmir in all stages, from problem identification to evaluation. The results of the service showed: an increase of about 82% in the competence of takmir in preparing digital-based zakat reports, using a standardized recording system in 67% of the assisted mosques and many mosque takmir obtained amil zakat decision letters from LAZISNU as a form of legality for zakat management. The findings contribute to the development of a community-based empowerment model by validating the effectiveness of the PAR approach in the context of Sharia financial literacy and providing an implementation framework for a short training course that is applicable to local scale zakat institutions. Challenges such as limited technological infrastructure and resistance to change are critical notes for program replication in other areas.

Abstract

The results of the Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) master's course at Universitas Sunan Giri Surabaya are influenced by the discussion method Ex post facto research is conducted using data collection techniques such as observation, documentation, and angket. The study sample is composed of two puluh PAI semester kedua students who were interviewed in a purposive sampling. The results of the data analysis using the Yule's-Q rumus show that Qxy = 0,639, indicating that the discussion method has a significant positive effect on learning outcomes. Prior to intervention, only 29% of students were able to understand the material; however, when the discussion method was used, the percentage increased to 65%. This indicates that the discussion method is effective in increasing students' active participation, understanding of the philosophical concept of Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah (Aswaja), and ability to critically think.  According to this study, the discussion method can be used as an alternative for interactive learning in a curriculum that focuses on local kearifan and keislaman.   Hasil belajar mahasiswa Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) pada mata kuliah Keaswajaan di Universitas Sunan Giri Surabaya dipengaruhi oleh metode diskusi. Penelitian dilakukan ex post facto dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui angket, dokumentasi, dan observasi.  Sample penelitian terdiri dari dua puluh siswa PAI semester kedua yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Hasil analisis data menggunakan rumus Yule's-Q menunjukkan nilai Qxy = 0,639, yang menunjukkan bahwa metode diskusi memiliki efek positif yang signifikan terhadap hasil belajar yang lebih baik. Sebelum intervensi, hanya 29% mahasiswa yang mampu memahami materi, namun setelah penerapan metode diskusi, persentase meningkat menjadi 65%. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa metode diskusi efektif dalam meningkatkan partisipasi aktif siswa, pemahaman mereka tentang konsep filosofis Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah (Aswaja), dan kemampuan berpikir kritis mereka. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, metode diskusi dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif untuk pembelajaran interaktif dalam mata kuliah yang berfokus pada nilai-nilai keislaman dan kearifan lokal.

Abstract

The decline in student behaviour at SMK Walisongo 1 Gempol, evidenced by a mere 60% compliance with rules, prompted the introduction of this community service programme. The programme focuses on optimising the role of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in instilling religious values and discipline through the development of structured habits. Using Participatory Action Research (PAR), the programme was carried out over three months by two teachers and 120 students in three stages: education, action and reflection. Specific actions included monitoring attributes, setting tasks and organising regular recitations of Asmaul Husna, Sholawat Burdah and Surat Al-Mulk. Significant results were achieved: rule compliance increased by 28% to 88%, participation in religious practices increased by 37% to 82%, and religious reading implementation reached 85%. The programme succeeded in establishing three sustainable institutions: a daily monitoring system, weekly reflection and an industrial-style morning assembly culture, to ensure continuous character transformation.   Menurunnya perilaku siswa di SMK Walisongo 1 Gempol, yang dibuktikan dengan kepatuhan terhadap peraturan yang hanya mencapai 60%, mendorong dilaksanakannya program pengabdian masyarakat ini. Program ini berfokus pada pengoptimalan peran guru Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai religius dan disiplin melalui pengembangan kebiasaan yang terstruktur. Menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Partisipatif (Participatory Action Research - PAR), program ini dilaksanakan selama tiga bulan oleh dua guru dan 120 siswa dalam tiga tahap: edukasi, tindakan, dan refleksi. Tindakan spesifik yang dilakukan meliputi pemantauan atribut, penetapan tugas, dan pengorganisasian pembacaan rutin Asmaul Husna, Salawat Burdah, dan Surat Al-Mulk. Hasil yang signifikan berhasil dicapai: kepatuhan terhadap aturan meningkat sebesar 28% menjadi 88%, partisipasi dalam praktik keagamaan meningkat sebesar 37% menjadi 82%, dan implementasi bacaan religius mencapai 85%. Program ini berhasil membentuk tiga pranata yang berkelanjutan: sistem pemantauan harian, refleksi mingguan, dan budaya apel pagi ala industri, untuk menjamin transformasi karakter yang berkelanjutan.
