Abstract

Pendampingan Academic Writing pada mahasiswa tingkat awal merupakan upaya strategis untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis ilmiah di kalangan mahasiswa baru yang sering kali menghadapi tantangan dalam  penugasan, seperti struktur artikel, dan penggunaan bahasa akademik. Artikel ini melaporkan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang bertujuan memberikan bimbingan langsung melalui pelatihan dan praktik menulis, dengan fokus pada mahasiswa tingkat awal di prodi PGMI perguruan tinggi. Metode yang diterapkan meliputi sesi teori dan praktik, diikuti oleh evaluasi kemajuan peserta.  Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan yang telah terlaksana, adanya antusias dari mahasiswa baru program studi pendidikan guru madrasah ibtida’iyah, mahasiswa menjadi lebih memahami materi terkait penulisan karya tulis ilmiah.

Abstract

Study of kitab kuning (classical Islamic texts) is a distinctive characteristic of traditional Islamic boarding schools (pondok pesantren). Mastery of kitab kuning requires a solid understanding of Arabic grammar (nahwu-sharaf), which many students often find difficult both in theory and practice. The Amtsilati method offers a simplified and systematic approach designed to assist beginners in understanding the Qur’an and kitab kuning. Pondok Pesantren Hidayatul Mubtadi’in Amtsilati Gurah Kediri is among the few pesantren that implement the Amtsilati method in their learning curriculum, whereas most traditional pesantren rarely adopt this method. This study aims to explore the accelerated method of learning kitab kuning using the Amtsilati approach at this pesantren. Employing a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through field observations, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that (1) there are two main systems used in teaching kitab kuning with the Amtsilati method: the regular system and the accelerated (intensive) system. The instructional process emphasizes a structured learning system, modeling approach, repetition, and positive reinforcement through rewards; (2) the impact of this method includes accelerated Arabic comprehension, increased self-confidence, higher motivation and enthusiasm, strengthened practical skills, enhanced responsibility, and reliance on a supportive system.

Abstract

The growing interest of parents in enrolling their children at MIN 2 Kota Kediri reflects a significant shift in educational orientation, emphasizing not only academic achievement but also the integration of spiritual and moral values. This study was conducted to examine the determinants of parental decision-making through a mixed methods sequential explanatory design. Quantitative data were obtained from questionnaires administered to 135 parents and analyzed using multiple linear regression, while qualitative data were gathered through in-depth interviews and thematically analyzed. The results indicate that all factors economic and access, religiosity, environment and facilities, social and cultural aspects, and teacher quality are significantly associated with parental decisions. Among them, religiosity (β = 0.443) and teacher quality (β = 0.262) were identified as the most influential. The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.666) demonstrates the robustness of the model. Parents ultimately expect their children to develop into pious individuals with noble character, prepared to face contemporary challenges in accordance with Islamic values.
