Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis bentuk serta strategi ungkapan penolakan yang digunakan oleh warganet di Facebook terhadap rencana pembukaan tambang emas di Kabupaten Sinjai. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan linguistik pragmatik dengan fokus pada tindak tutur penolakan berdasarkan teori Kartomihardjo (1990), yang membedakan penolakan menjadi dua jenis utama, yakni penolakan langsung dan tidak langsung. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari unggahan dan komentar pengguna Facebook pada berbagai akun atau grup yang membahas isu tambang emas tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik dokumentasi dan analisis isi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa warganet menggunakan beragam bentuk penolakan, mulai dari ekspresi langsung seperti “Kami menolak tambang!” hingga bentuk tidak langsung yang bersifat sindiran, pertanyaan retoris, dan penggunaan bahasa metaforis. Strategi penolakan ini tidak hanya merefleksikan ketidaksetujuan terhadap proyek tambang, tetapi juga memperlihatkan dinamika opini publik, kekhawatiran ekologis, dan solidaritas sosial masyarakat lokal. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa media sosial menjadi ruang penting bagi masyarakat dalam menyuarakan sikap politik dan ekologisnya melalui bentuk-bentuk kebahasaan yang khas.

Abstract

Social media has become a dynamic space for public discourse, including in Indonesia. Instagram, particularly official accounts such as @PSSI, is often used by netizens to express opinions, criticism, and support related to national football issues. This phenomenon reflects the complexity of digital communication, which is rich in social values and linguistic politeness. This study aims to identify the forms of linguistic politeness employed by netizens in the comment section of the official Instagram account @PSSI. The research adopts a pragmatic approach, referring to Leech’s politeness maxims, which include the maxims of tact, generosity, approbation, modesty, agreement, and sympathy. This qualitative descriptive study utilizes documentation and note-taking techniques on relevant user comments collected between February and June 2025. The analysis reveals that netizens continue to apply various politeness maxims in conveying criticism, support, and expressions of solidarity in a respectful manner. These comments demonstrate ethical communication strategies, including motivation, advice, sympathy, and collective appeals. The findings affirm that the digital space, despite its vulnerability to negative speech, can serve as a platform for constructive and civil expression. This research contributes to the development of pragmatic studies and offers practical insights for public institutions in managing social media communication.

Abstract

The poem “Mayat Politik Ditutupi Koran Pagi” by Afrizal Malna presents sharp social and political criticism through the use of irony and complex metaphors. This study aims to examine how these two linguistic devices are employed to reveal the socio-political realities of post-reform Indonesia. Using a stylistic approach, the research explores the forms, functions, and meanings of irony and metaphor that appear within the poem’s structure. The analysis shows that irony serves to express dissatisfaction and satire toward political conditions that appear orderly but are actually filled with deception and manipulation. Meanwhile, metaphor provides a symbolic depiction of the role of mass media as an instrument of power that conceals the true political reality behind public discourse. Through the interplay of these two stylistic elements, Afrizal Malna succeeds in presenting a poetic representation of society’s anxiety over media domination and the blurring line between truth and political interest. This study is expected to enhance the understanding of literature’s role as a reflective and critical medium in uncovering the relationship between language, power, and ideology within Indonesia’s socio-political dynamics.

Abstract

This article discusses the poem “Sajak Suara” by Wiji Thukul through a structural approach that emphasizes the analysis of intrinsic elements of the text, such as diction, imagery, figurative language, typography, and the poem’s inner structure. This poem was chosen because it contains a strong ideological message related to the struggle against oppression and the silencing of freedom of expression, particularly in the context of the New Order regime. The analysis shows that the poem’s formal structure both in form and content, actively reinforces the spirit of resistance and freedom. The use of direct diction, rhetorical language, and free typography reflects an expression of tension and determination. Thus, the structural approach is able to reveal how the poem’s form itself becomes a crucial instrument in conveying socio-political messages. This study is expected to broaden appreciation of poetry as a medium of critique and collective awareness.

Abstract

This study examines the poem "Peringatan" ("Warning") by Wiji Thukul using Roland Barthes' semiotic theory. The aim of the research is to uncover the meaning of resistance implied in the poem through three layers of meaning: denotative, connotative, and myth. The poem was written in a repressive socio-political context, in which freedom of expression was silenced by those in power. Through a Barthesian approach, the lines of the poem are analyzed as a system of signs that symbolically represent resistance against authoritarian rule. The analysis reveals that the poem not only conveys an aesthetic message but also constructs a counter-discourse to the dominant ideology. The poem becomes a site of resistance, urging the people not to submit to oppression. This study reinforces the view that literature, particularly poetry, holds great potential as a medium of struggle and freedom.
