Abstract

This study aims to know the best implementation of Educandy Application combined with problem – based learning method to enhance vocabulary mastery of VII C students at SMP Widya Sakti Denpasar. The subject of this research was 35 students of VII C class. This research used Classroom Action Research as research design in which consist of 2 cycles with 2 meetings in each cycles. The instrument of this study is vocabulary test that conducted in preliminary study, cycle I and cycle II. The success criteria of this research is, if all of VII C students passed the minimum completion criteria score which was 75. The finding showed that there is an improvement in students' vocabulary mastery based on the test results. In cycle I, the average score of students was 75 and in cycle II it increased to 87. In addition, the number of students who passed the minimum completion criteria score also increased, from previously in cycle I there were only 18 students while in cycle II, 35 students or all students of class VII C succeeded. The best implementation of Educandy application combined with the problem-based learning method in improving students' vocabulary mastery is by using its features such as crossword and word search game to introduce problem to the students. On this step of problem – based learning, the teacher supposed to introduce the problem to be discussed, then to keep the activity simple, the researcher offered crossword and word search game to be used on this activity.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the best implementation of cartoon video to improve students’ pronunciation skill and their perception of cartoon video in learning pronunciation. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) cyclic procedure consist of four stages, namely: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The technique of data collection in this research were observation, test, and questionnaire. The finding showed that the implementation of cartoon video in an EFL classroom, which consider the learning system, speech rate of the video, and the amount of pronunciation practice, was able to improve students’ pronunciation skill. It was indicated by the percentage of students’ activity rate that reach more than 75%, the percentage of students who passed the minimum criteria of mastery learning (KKM) reach more than 75%, the average of pronunciation test score reach more than 70. Students shows a strong positive perception on the quality of the cartoon video, the ease of use of the cartoon video, and also the usefulness of the cartoon video. Based on the finding, the teacher should pay attention to these three factors: learning system, speech rate of video, and the amount of students’ pronuciation practice when teaching pronunciation using cartoon video.

Abstract

Video Based Learning Media has advantages, which are more effective and efficient, and support a more active learning process. The learning process at SMA Negeri 8 Denpasar is currently not as expected because the learning outcomes of class XI IPA 3 SMA Negeri 8 Denpasar have not yet reached the completeness set as it should. The issues that will be discussed include (1) What is the form of application of Video Based Learning Media in Hindu Religious Education and Characteristics in Improving Student Learning Outcomes (2) How are students' responses to the application of Video Based Learning Media in Improving Student Learning Outcomes. This study aims to (1) Know the forms of Application of Video Based Learning Media in Religious and Moral Education Learning (2) Analyze the level of student response to the application of Video Based Learning Media in Improving Student Learning Outcomes. This study uses theory (1) Constructivism Theory (2) Cone of Experience Theory. The subjects of this study included all students of class XI IPA 3 at SMA Negeri 8 Denpasar. Methods of data collection using test methods, interviews and observation. Student value data that has been collected is analyzed quantitatively. The results of the data obtained showed an increase in learning outcomes from cycle I, there were 23 students or 51.1% of students who had not completed and 22 students completed (48.8%) increased in cycle II 45 students completed (100%) and all students received a complete score . Student responses were very positive, they liked video-based learning because it was easy to understand and fun. It is suggested to teachers of Hindu religious education and morals to make Video Based Learning media an alternative choice so as to keep abreast of educational developments.
