Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan pemahaman dan pembentukan karakter siswa sekolah dasar dalam menghadapi era digital melalui edukasi literasi digital dan etika bermedia sosial. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 10 April 2026 di kelas V SDN 14 Teriak dengan melibatkan 14 siswa dan beberapa guru. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif melalui penyampaian materi berbasis Smart TV, diskusi interaktif, simulasi kasus, dan evaluasi pemahaman. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pemahaman siswa dari 45% menjadi 85%. Selain itu, terjadi perubahan sikap siswa dalam penggunaan media digital, seperti meningkatnya kesadaran akan etika komunikasi, keamanan data pribadi, serta kemampuan memilah informasi. Guru juga memperoleh wawasan dalam mengintegrasikan literasi digital. Kegiatan ini efektif dalam membentuk karakter siswa yang bijak, bertanggung jawab, dan beretika di era digital.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the phonics strategy implemented by teachers in overcoming reading difficulties among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 15 Tampe and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. This research used a qualitative descriptive approach. The subjects of the study were the fifth-grade teacher and fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 15 Tampe. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques included data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the phonics strategy was implemented through activities such as recognizing letters and sounds, combining letters into syllables, reading words gradually, reading aloud, and providing individual guidance to students experiencing reading difficulties. The strategy helped improve students’ ability to recognize letters, reading fluency, and pronunciation accuracy. Supporting factors included teacher commitment, the use of learning media such as letter cards, and support from the school environment. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors included limited learning time, differences in students’ reading abilities, and students’ lack of self-confidence. Therefore, the phonics strategy can be considered effective in helping students overcome reading difficulties, especially in mastering letter-sound relationships and improving reading fluency

Abstract

The decline of nationalism among elementary school students has become one of the challenges faced by Indonesian education in the era of globalization. National compulsory songs are one of the educational media that contain values of patriotism, unity, and love for the homeland. However, students often sing these songs merely as a routine activity without understanding their meaning. This study aimed to describe students' perceptions of national compulsory songs, analyze the meaning of these songs in strengthening students' patriotic character, and identify the challenges faced by teachers in internalizing patriotic values. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach conducted at SDN 10 Tiga Desa. The participants consisted of the principal, the fifth-grade teacher, and fifth-grade students. Data were collected through observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that students generally understand national compulsory songs as symbols of respect for Indonesia and national heroes. The songs contribute to strengthening students' patriotic character through habitual singing activities before lessons and during flag ceremonies. Students demonstrate respect toward national symbols, discipline, cooperation, and environmental responsibility. Nevertheless, several obstacles remain, including students' limited understanding of song lyrics, the influence of popular culture, and the tendency to regard singing activities as mere routines. Teachers address these challenges by explaining the meanings of song lyrics, providing role models, integrating patriotic values into classroom learning, and conducting continuous character-building activities. Therefore, national compulsory songs remain relevant as an effective medium for strengthening patriotic character in elementary schools when accompanied by meaningful learning processes.
