Abstract

This study aims to examine the thematic-integrative paradigm in the development of curriculum and learning in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at madrasahs or schools through a literature review approach. This paradigm offers a solution to the challenge of fragmented learning by integrating Islamic values into cross-subject themes in a contextual and holistic manner. The literature study method is used to analyze theories, concepts, and previous research findings relevant to the integrative approach in Islamic education. The findings indicate that the thematic-integrative approach enhances the effectiveness of PAI learning, supports value internalization, and shapes students' character in spiritual, intellectual, and social dimensions. The successful implementation of this paradigm is strongly influenced by teacher competence, institutional support, and the availability of adaptive curriculum tools. Therefore, strengthening teacher training and providing systemic support are key to realizing a more transformative and relevant PAI learning experience for today’s educational needs.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital membawa tantangan baru dalam pembentukan karakter siswa SMA, sehingga menuntut peran strategis guru Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) sebagai pendidik karakter di era digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis peran guru PAI dalam pembentukan karakter siswa di SMA Swasta Plus Pariwisata, meliputi peran sebagai pendidik nilai keislaman, pembimbing moral, teladan, fasilitator, motivator, dan evaluator pembelajaran berbasis digital. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif melalui observasi pembelajaran, wawancara dengan guru PAI dan pihak sekolah, serta kuesioner kepada siswa kelas X, XI, dan XII. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembentukan karakter siswa dipengaruhi oleh input instrumental berupa kebijakan pendidikan, kurikulum PAI, serta dukungan sumber daya dan sarana prasarana, dengan mempertimbangkan lingkungan keluarga dan masyarakat. Proses pembentukan karakter dilaksanakan secara terintegrasi melalui berbagai peran guru PAI. Output penelitian menunjukkan terbentuknya karakter religius, disiplin, jujur, dan bertanggung jawab, dengan outcome berupa terwujudnya akhlakul karimah siswa secara berkelanjutan di era digital
