Abstract

Geography learning can encourage and inspire students to think critically, analytically, and creatively in identifying, understanding, and solving problems. Geography learning involves differences in student characteristics in absorbing and processing information. However, learning effectiveness can be influenced by understanding according to student characteristics, especially related to the learning modality used in absorbing information. This article aims to examine in depth the role of learning modalities in geography learning, as well as assess the effectiveness of modalities in learning. The method used in writing this article is a literature review of various literature by analyzing various sources relevant to the learning topic and learning styles. The results of the study found that geography learning that integrates various modalities in a multimodal manner is more effective in improving conceptual understanding in learning. Therefore, contextual, adaptive, and experienced geography learning is highly recommended to accommodate the diversity of student characteristics and encourage the optimal achievement of 21st-century competencies.

Abstract

Spatial thinking ability is a core skill that students must possess to understand and solve problems in geography. Spatial thinking involves the integration of spatial concepts, spatial information methods, and reasoning processes that enable students to analyze spatial relationships. This cognitive skill allows learners to transform and collaborate between spatial concepts and representational tools to comprehend geospheric phenomena. This study aims to examine the implementation and influence of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on improving students’ spatial thinking ability at SMA Negeri 1Amarasi Barat in the 2025/2026 academic year. The study employs a classroom action research design with a quantitative approach. The research subjects were students of classes X1 and X2. The research procedure consisted of planning, implementation, observation, data analysis, reflection, and follow-up stages. Data were collected through questionnaires and learning achievement tests, then analyzed using mean calculations and simple linear regression tests assisted by SPSS. The findings show a significant improvement in the experimental class, with the N-gain increasing from a pretest mean of 46.65 to a posttest mean of 71.57, while the control class decreased from 57.65 to 42.26. The hypothesis test revealed significance values (2-tailed) of 0.000 and 0.001 0.05, indicating that the PBL model has a significant positive effect on students’ learning outcomes. Thus, Problem-Based Learning is proven effective in enhancing spatial thinking and improving the quality of geography learning.

Abstract

Pendidikan mitigasi bencana untuk membangun kesadaran dan kesiapsiagaan terhadap risiko dan bahaya bencana gempa bumi harus dimulai sejak dini dan diterapkan secara berkelanjutan. Pendidikan mitigasi bencana yang paling efektif dan efisien dilakukan melalui pembelajaran di sekolah. Ketersediaan media pembelajaran berperan sebagai alat bantu dan media pendidikan yang mempermudah peserta didik dalam menyerap dan memahami materi. Salah satu media pembelajaran mitigasi bencana gempa bumi yang adalah Ular Tangga Guncang Bumi. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon peserta didik dalam menggunakan media pembelajaran ular tangga untuk meningkatkan kesadaran serta kemampuan dalam menghadapi ancaman bencana alam gempa bumi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian research and development. Model pengembangan yang digunakan mengadopsi desain penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D). Penelitian ini dilakukan pada kelas XI MIPA SMA Negeri 5 Yogyakarta dengan subjek uji coba sebanyak 20 peserta didik.  Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian terdiri dari analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa respon penilaian peserta didik terhadap media pembelajaran Ular Tangga Guncang Bumi mendapatkan rerata skor 3,5 yang tergolong dalam kategori sangat layak untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

Education is important for every generation, especially the younger generation. The use of learning media that utilizes available digital technology can be employed in education, such as animated media created with Canva. Canva can produce images and sounds as teaching aids, using the senses of sight and hearing in the process of absorbing learning material. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of animated video learning media with flora and fauna content on improving student learning outcomes at Rote Barat Laut 1 Senior High School. The method used in this study is Research and Development, which employs a research model consisting of the steps Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The data collection instrument used is a test. The data analysis technique used is the independent t-test. The analysis results showed that the average pre-test score for the experimental class was 48.32 and the average post-test score was 86.2, while for the control class, the average pre-test score was 50.09 and the post-test score was 72.26. Based on calculations, the effect size (Cohen’s d) between the post-test scores of the experimental and control classes was 1.87. Therefore, it can be concluded that the development of animated video learning media with flora and fauna content significantly influenced the cognitive learning outcomes of students.

Abstract

Pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis android belum banyak dilakukan di Universitas Cenderawasih. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan dan kelayakan media pembelajaran berbasis android terhadap kompetensi pengetahuan mahasiswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (RnD). Subjek uji coba pada penelitian adalah mahasiswa sebanyak 27 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu melalui observasi, dokumentasi, angket, dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis android sangat layak dan efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi pengetahuan mahasiswa. Hal ini dibuktikan nilai akhir rata-rata mahasiswa pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 90 dengan persentase ketuntasan belajar mahasiswa sebanyak 88,88%.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in enhancing learning activeness among vocational students in the Light Vehicle Engineering subject. A participatory classroom action research design based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model was implemented over two cycles. Data on learning activeness were collected using structured observation sheets, while instrument validity and reliability were confirmed through SPSS v.26, with all items showing acceptable validity (r > 0.334) and Cronbach’s Alpha values of 0.65 and 0.77 for cycles 1 and 2. A minimum target of 75% learning activeness was established. Results revealed a substantial improvement, with student activeness rising from an average score of 14.4 (58%, medium category) to 19.9 (80%, high category). These findings demonstrate that PBL effectively promotes learning activeness and supports more engaging, student-centered vocational education practices. Metode pengambilan data menggunakan lembar observasi. Pengujian instrumen dilakukan melalui Uji validitas dan reliabilitas menggunakan aplikasi SPSS v.26 yang dinyatakan valid dan reliabel. Validitas memperoleh nilai r lebih dari 0.334, sedangkan reliabilitas Alpha Cronbach’s siklus 1 r= 0,65; siklus 2 r=0,77. Selain itu peneliti menentukan target rata-rata keaktifan minimal 75%. Hasil keaktifan siswa dari siklus 1 didapatkan rata-rata skor sebesar 14,4 atau 58% dalam kategori sedang kemudian di siklus 2 memperoleh skor 19,9 atau 80% dalam kategori tinggi. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning efektif dapat meningkatkan keaktifan siswa dalam pembelajaran siswa SMK.

Abstract

Abstrak: Perkembangan kemajuan teknologi revolusi industri 5.0 di bidang pendidikan mengalami transformasi menuju digitalisasi pembelajaran. Sekolah tidak lagi menerapkan pembelajaran secara konvensional dengan buku cetak tetapi dituntut untuk menciptakan inovasi media pembelajaran berbasis digital. Kegiatan ini dirancang untuk mengembangkan e-modul teknologi pengolahan pakan sebagai media pembelajaran berbasis digital. Metode dalam kegiatan pengabdian yaitu sosialiasi dan penginstalan E-Modul teknologi pakan ternak di Sekolah Kejuruan yang menyasar peserta didik kelas 10 dan 11 sebanyak 100 orang dan 4 orang guru pendamping.Berdasarkan hasil analisis deskriptif melalui pretest dan posttest terjadi peningkatan sebesar 73.73% pengetahuan siswa dalam teknologi pakan ternak. E-modul teknologi pakan ternak dapat digunakan untuk siswa dan guru dalam pembelajaran.Abstract: The development of technological advances in the 5.0 industrial revolution in the field of education has undergone a transformation towards the digitization of learning. Schools no longer apply conventional learning methods using textbooks but are required to develop innovative digital-based learning media. This program was designed to develop e-modules on feed processing technology as digital-based learning media. The methods used in this community service activity were the dissemination and installation of e-modules on animal feed technology in vocational schools, targeting 100 students in grades 10 and 11 and 4 accompanying teachers. Based on the results of descriptive analysis through pre-tests and post-tests, there was a 73.73% increase in students' knowledge of animal feed technology. The E-module on animal feed technology can be used by students and teachers in learning.

Abstract

Abstrak: Isu degradasi lingkungan dan rendahnya kesadaran ekologis generasi muda menjadi tantangan penting di Nusa Tenggara Timur. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan literasi lingkungan dan mengenalkan agroforestri berbasis pohon lokal kepada siswa SMK Pertanian Pembangunan Negeri Kupang. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi sosialisasi, diskusi interaktif, dan praktik penanaman dengan melibatkan 40 siswa kelas X dan XI. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test masing-masing 10 pertanyaan, serta observasi partisipasi siswa. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman signifikan, dengan rata-rata skor kelas X meningkat 13,2% dan kelas XI 11,5%. Partisipasi siswa aktif pada sesi diskusi dan praktik penanaman bibit kelor, jambu mete, lamtoro, merbau, dan kayu putih. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa pembelajaran kontekstual berbasis pengalaman (hands-on learning) efektif menumbuhkan literasi ekologi dan keterampilan praktis. Rekomendasi tindak lanjut mencakup pembentukan klub lingkungan dan pendampingan praktik penanaman agroforestri untuk mendukung kesadaran ekologis siswa berkelanjutan.Abstract: The issues of environmental degradation and low ecological awareness among the younger generation are important challenges in East Nusa Tenggara. This community service activity aims to improve environmental literacy and introduce agroforestry based on local trees to students at the Kupang State Agricultural Vocational School. The implementation methods include socialization, interactive discussions, and planting practices involving 40 students in grades X and XI. Evaluation was conducted through pre-tests and post-tests consisting of 10 questions each, as well as observation of student participation. The results showed a significant increase in understanding, with the average score for grade X increasing by 13.2% and grade XI by 11.5%. Students actively participated in discussion sessions and planting practices of moringa, cashew, lamtoro, merbau, and eucalyptus seedlings. These findings confirm that experiential contextual learning (hands-on learning) is effective in fostering ecological literacy and practical skills. Recommendations for follow-up include the formation of an environmental club and mentoring in agroforestry planting practices to support students' ongoing ecological awareness.
