Abstract

The educational process becomes more effective if it is disseminated in local ways so that it is easier to understand. In a community, the best way to carry out the educational process is to utilize a cultural approach. This also applies to religion-based education. The values of religious education must be disseminated by functioning local cultural elements. The most prominent thing about the use of the Balinese language to socialize Hindu teachings in Bali is its success in building a sense of familiarity. From time to time, the Balinese have accepted Hinduism as an integral part of their lives. This sense of closeness is an important point in the educational process. A sense of closeness will ensure the application of educational values. Various forms of oral and written works that appear later can integrate with the educational values of Hinduism. This study aims to describe the role of the Balinese language in the socialization of Hindu religious and educational values. It is clear that the mission alignment between Balinese and Hinduism is complementary and does not interfere with each other. This research method is qualitative, with a descriptive research concentration.

Abstract

Lack of understanding of the principles of curriculum development means that educational institutions simply imitate without carrying out analysis and adjustments in the process of developing their curriculum. So we can be sure that educational goals will not be achieved optimally. One of the important things to understand in curriculum development is educational philosophy. Educational problems often arise and become a factor that can hinder the achievement of educational goals, but by understanding what educational philosophy is as a whole, you will be able to direct educational stakeholders to find out the source of the problem, the solutions offered, and steps in realizing the achievement of educational goals in the future, along with changing times, science, and technology. The local content curriculum is expected to be able to bridge the conditions of educational units in the regions with the achievement of national education goals, which is the hope of all Indonesian citizens who want equal distribution of human resources throughout Indonesia. The preparation and development of local content curricula is oriented towards various philosophical schools, which are then translated into philosophical foundations in the curriculum. These currents include perennialism, essentialism, existentialism, progressivism, reconstructionism, and post-modernism.

Abstract

Sulinggih should be able to become the main teacher for the community, therefore, he must have mature educational experience as well as a good reputation. Hinduism views education as a need for every human being as well as a dimension that is full of purity. When education is far from pure values, it will lose its benefits in forming a generation with noble character. Hinduism holds that education must be given to everyone without exception. However, Sulinggih candidates are required to undergo a more rigorous educational process with denser material. If this is the case, then a prospective sulinggih will automatically have a good reputation and be declared worthy to undergo the purification ritual as a sulinggih.  The further impact is that the quality of education that is born from this process makes all people as educated as possible. The influence of modernism and image worship then led to a reduction in the educational process for Sulinggih candidates. This has led to the emergence of cases of unscrupulous individuals who violate moral norms, religious norms, and even legal norms. In Lontar Putra Sesana, educational methods for Sulinggih candidates have been patterned, which include the dimensions of pedagogy, andragogy, and heutagogy. The aim of this research is to provide a reference for the correct educational pattern of Sulinggih candidates in Hinduism. This research method is of a qualitative type with an accent on library research. The findings of this research state that Lontar Putra Sesana contains the main teachings of pradīkṣā education, which begins at an early age until one is ready to undergo purification as a sulinggih.
