Abstract

Homeschool or family-based education is one form of informal education recognized by the National Education Act in Indonesia. With a wide variety of families running a variety of homeschooling methods, portfolios can be one way to evaluate the learning process of their children at home. The key to build a portfolio is how the portfolio is structured and used in the recordkeeping process of the learning outcomes of everyday children. Therefore, this preliminary study was conducted to get an idea of how homeschool parents aged 7-15 years doing the process of recordkeeping their academic and non-academic activities. Data collection is done by a mixed method. A total of 68 parents responded to an online questionnaire distributed through Facebook and WhatsApp group with the majority having primary school age children (91.2%) and were previously schooled (67.6%) with their daily activities contain academic activities (79.4%) and non-academic (98.1%). In addition, in-depth interviews were also conducted with 6 (six) parents whose children have an interest in sports and the creative worlds. The results showed that almost all respondents recorded their activities by using camera photos for both academic (90.7%) and non-academic activities (86.6%), followed by writings (72.2%) for academic activities, and video recordings (64.2%) for non-academic activities. Obstacles perceived by the respondents generally are (1) consistency of recording and (2) grouping the results of the learning track record in their chosen storage. Although the process of recordkeeping has not been done from the beginning of planning, as the portfolio should be built, from the interviewed respondents, the results of the children>s learning record can be given as material for applying for jobs informally because of the network they have. Nevertheless, 92.6% of respondents stated that they need assistance in preparing the portfolio, such as consultation (76.5%), workshop (76.5%), and seminar (44.1%).

Abstract From early 1990s, electronic records (e-records) have become a part of daily business activities for both small and big organisations. Since then, Records Management (RM) professionals have aimed to create a consistent and standard way to manage e-records. Nowadays, the challenges for managing e-records have been considerably complicated with the rise of Web 2.0 during the last few years. This paper will point out the challenges in managing electronic records, how RM professionals in Western Australia try to discover the best way to manage them in the Web 2.0 environment, and how it changes the role of the RM professionals in general. Keywords: electronic records, web 2.0

Abstract

This study discusses the digitizing process of certified competency test paperwork at the University of Indonesia Profession Certification Bodies ((Lembaga Sertifikasi Profesi) LSP UI). The process was conducted online using a web-based application system. The administrative digitization process produces born-digital recordss as evidence of the implementation of the test process. This study aims to see how the process of digitizing the administration of this competency test is carried out. The process of digitizing the competency test activities identified what digital records were created and how they affected archive management and business processes at LSP UI. This research method uses a qualitative approach with a narrative description of the data analysis. Data were collected through observations of LSP certification test activities, interviews of the personnel involved, analysis of LSP documents, and literature studies. The results that can be reviewed are the process of digitization competency certification activities at LSP UI carried outs by creating a web-based administration system. From this web system, participants register, administer exams, to announce test results by online system and also create several digital records, including personal records of participants, assessors files, registration files, test implementation files and exam results. The conclusion obtained is that the digitalization of competency certification tests is much needed, especially amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Digitization simplifies business processes and LSP supervision. The next issue is how each of these digitization system can be integrated with digital records management in LSP in particular and the organization in general. In addition, the issue of duplication, authenticity, filing and indexing of digital records is also a homework for organizations to do.
