Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Garbage is the rest of human daily activities or natural processes in solid form. In general, the problem of waste is related to how to manage waste properly in the community and how to reduce waste generation and utilize all the potential generated. One of the right ways to manage waste from waste generation sources is the waste bank program. This study aims to examine the management system of the Dream Waste Bank and the characteristics of the Dream Waste Bank which is managed in the BCL 5 Housing in Jambi City. Method: Research method with qualitative descriptive. The units analyzed were all residents' houses that became customers, namely 29 households and 8 informants. Result: The results of the study found that the management of the Dream Waste Bank based on PERMEN LH No. 13 of 2012 has taken place as it should based on the standardization of the waste bank, the working mechanism of the waste bank, the advantages of the waste bank system, the implementation of the waste bank system, the stage of utilizing inorganic waste and the development of a waste bank. Conclusion: The characteristics of the waste bank obtained in the study are the volume of inorganic waste, the composition of inorganic waste that enters the waste bank and the generation/amount of waste collected each month and the reduction in waste generation
