Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas pergeseran citra diri pendakwah dalam konteks struktur kuasa digital melalui studi kasus kontroversi Gus Miftah versus penjual Es Teh. Dengan menggunakan perspektif komunikasi simbolik dan teori konstruksi identitas, kajian ini mengungkap bagaimana ruang dakwah kini bertransformasi menjadi arena mediatik yang sarat akan polarisasi publik, ekspektasi moral kolektif, serta intervensi algoritmik. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa otoritas dakwah di era digital tidak lagi ditentukan semata oleh legitimasi keilmuan atau institusional, melainkan oleh kemampuan pendakwah dalam mengelola keutuhan identitas komunikatif, menjaga authenticity, dan merespons dinamika publik yang semakin kritis. Fenomena ini menandai urgensi reorientasi strategi dakwah yang adaptif terhadap medan kuasa baru, di mana reputasi religius bersifat fluktuatif dan sangat bergantung pada persepsi publik digital.

Abstract

This study explores harnessing the direct engagement of youth from SMK Pondok Pesantren Darul Muqomah and SMAK Katolik Santo Paulus in Jember, East Java, in fostering tolerance and creating a climate of interfaith harmony. Within interfaith youth collaboration project demonstrates inclusive communication by creating a space for open and mutually respectful dialogue, and so by blending the traditions of each institution, they promote interfaith understanding and early awareness of religious diversity while countering radical ideologies among young people. This qualitative research utilizes observation and documentation methods. The findings indicate that involving youth early through joint activities, regular and scheduled reciprocal visits, grounded in the local narratives and traditions of both institutions, effectively promotes tolerance, prevents radicalization, and cultivates a spirit of diversity and unity. The activities include interfaith dialogues, social actions, tradition exchanges, and digital outputs, which serve as practical approaches to fostering an understanding of tolerance. It is hoped that this method can be amplified by other communities that aim to preserve diversity, combat extremism, and promote religious tolerance.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has influenced children’s learning patterns and information consumption, including within non-formal religious education settings such as Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur’an (TPQ). Although digital media have the potential to serve as educational tools, risks such as exposure to inappropriate content, excessive gadget use, and declining learning focus necessitate structured and targeted mentoring. This community service activity aims to enhance TPQ students’ media literacy and to strengthen teachers’ capacity to utilize media as educational resources through an Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach. The program was implemented at TPQ Baitul Halim Babatan Wiyung, Surabaya, involving approximately 30 students and three teachers. The stages of the activity included community asset mapping (discovery), formulation of shared aspirations (dream), design of mentoring modules and training programs (design), implementation of media literacy education for students and technical guidance for teachers (define/destiny), and program evaluation through reflective activities (reflection). The results indicate an improvement in students’ understanding of ethical media use, their ability to identify educational and safe content, and the emergence of basic critical attitudes toward digital information. TPQ teachers (Ustadz and Ustadzah) also demonstrated enhanced competence in selecting and integrating educational media into the learning process. This program contributes to the establishment of a positive, character-based media literacy culture grounded in Islamic values within the TPQ environment and has the potential to be developed as a sustainable mentoring model in non-formal education.
