Abstract

The phenomenon of bullying in elementary schools remains a serious issue that significantly affects students’ psychological, social, and academic development. This study aims to enhance students awareness of the impacts of bullying through a Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata) conducted at SDN 19 Padang Cermin, Durian Village, Pesawaran Regency. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation to obtain an in-depth understanding of students’ behavioral and attitudinal changes following the program. The findings reveal that the KKN-based socialization effectively increased students’ comprehension of bullying forms and consequences, fostered social empathy, and promoted respectful interactions within the school environment. Students demonstrated high levels of enthusiasm, particularly during discussion and empathy simulation sessions, indicating that participatory methods are effective in cultivating moral values and positive character development from an early age. Moreover, this program reinforced collaboration among university students, teachers, and the local community in creating a safe, inclusive, and violence-free learning environment.

Abstract

This study systematically reviews social welfare challenges faced by urban women in Indonesia and proposes policy recommendations to address gender-based disparities. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, five peer-reviewed articles published between 2020 and 2024 were analyzed. Findings reveal persistent structural and socio-economic inequalities, including limited access to education, employment, healthcare, and social protection. Vulnerable groups such as domestic workers, single mothers, and women at risk of socio-economic vulnerability (WRSE) remain marginalized despite existing welfare programs. Cultural norms, patriarchal values, and inconsistent implementation of gender-responsive policies exacerbate these challenges, especially in rapidly urbanizing areas. This review underscores the urgent need for inclusive, gender-sensitive, and participatory welfare strategies that strengthen women’s economic empowerment, improve access to social services, and enhance resilience against crises. By synthesizing contemporary evidence, this study provides insights for policymakers, educators, and stakeholders to develop equitable and sustainable urban welfare systems that foster gender equality and social justice.

Abstract

This study systematically reviews and synthesizes recent research on women’s self-confidence within the intersecting domains of education and social welfare, viewed through the normative and symbolic framework of International Women’s Day (IWD). Adopting a systematic literature review (SLR) design based on the PRISMA protocol, the analysis integrated evidence from 100 articles retrieved from Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar between 2020 and 2024, of which 10 met the inclusion criteria after rigorous screening and quality appraisal. The findings reveal that women’s self-confidence functions as both a psychological resource and a social capital that bridges educational attainment, economic participation, and welfare engagement. Education consistently emerged as the most influential determinant of confidence, enhancing women’s decision-making capacity, autonomy, and leadership readiness, while social welfare systems acted as contextual enablers that transform confidence into tangible well-being. The synthesis further indicates that confidence mediates the relationship between educational empowerment and welfare realization, underscoring its dual role as both outcome and driver of gender equity. The discussion situates these findings within feminist social theory, self-efficacy, and capability frameworks, arguing that self-confidence is a relational construct shaped by institutional inclusion and socio-cultural norms. This review highlights the need for integrated educational welfare programs that incorporate psychosocial mentoring and policy support to sustain women’s empowerment. The implications of this study emphasize that fostering women’s self-confidence is not merely a matter of individual growth but a strategic and structural pathway toward inclusive social transformation and equitable development.
