Abstract

Indonesia, sebagai negara yang terletak di jalur tektonik aktif, menghadapi risiko bencana alam yang tinggi, termasuk erupsi gunung berapi, tanah longsor, banjir, dan gempa bumi. Kabupaten Lumajang, Jawa Timur, merupakan salah satu daerah yang sangat rentan terhadap bencana alam, terutama karena keberadaan Gunung Semeru yang aktif. Untuk mengurangi dampak bencana, Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD) Kabupaten Lumajang meluncurkan program Sekolah Sadar Lingkungan (SEDARLING), yang bertujuan untuk membangun kesadaran mitigasi bencana di kalangan siswa sejak usia dini. Program ini mengintegrasikan pendidikan mitigasi bencana dengan kepedulian terhadap lingkungan, seperti evakuasi mandiri, pengelolaan sampah, dan penanaman pohon. Meskipun program ini berpotensi besar untuk meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan bencana, implementasinya masih menghadapi tantangan, seperti keterbatasan pelatihan untuk guru, fasilitas simulasi bencana yang belum memadai, dan rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pelaksanaan program SEDARLING sebagai strategi mitigasi bencana di Kabupaten Lumajang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keberhasilan program ini sangat bergantung pada kolaborasi antara BPBD, sekolah, dan masyarakat, serta peningkatan kualitas pelatihan guru dan fasilitas simulasi bencana. Diharapkan, melalui program ini, anak-anak dapat menjadi agen perubahan yang menyebarkan pengetahuan mitigasi bencana di lingkungan mereka.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low level of active participation among fifth-grade students at SDN Sukun 2 Malang City in learning natural and social sciences (IPAS), caused by the dominance of conventional methods and the use of less varied instructional media. The main objective of this study was to describe the implementation of domino card media and to enhance students’ learning activeness on the topic “Bumiku Sayang, Bumiku Malang”. The research method employed was Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis & McTaggart model, conducted in two cycles. The research subjects consisted of 29 students from class VA. Data were collected through direct observation using an activeness assessment rubric and the distribution of student response questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out descriptively and quantitatively to identify trends in the improvement of student engagement across each meeting. The results indicated a significant transformation in student activeness. In the pre-cycle and the beginning of Cycle I, student activeness fell into the “Low” category, with an average percentage of 35.17%. Following the refinement of instructional actions and optimization of domino card media use, student activeness increased dramatically in the final meeting of Cycle II, reaching 86.72% and classified as “Excellent”. This improvement was further corroborated by the student response questionnaire results, which reached 85.59%, indicating that game-based media were effective in creating an interactive, concrete, and enjoyable classroom atmosphere. It can be concluded that the implementation of domino card media successfully transformed students’ roles from passive listeners into enthusiastic learning subjects who actively engage in discussion, questioning, and collaboration.

Abstract

The results of the 2022 Program for International Student Assessment (PISA)indicate that students` numeracy literacy skills in Indonesia remain low. Thissituation was also observed among fourth-grade students at SDN Sukun 2, whostruggled to solve word problems in mathematics. This study aims to improvestudents’ numeracy literacy skills through the implementation of a Problem-BasedLearning (PBL) model supported by a Mystery Box medium for mathematics wordproblems. The study employed the Classroom Action Research method based onthe Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted over two cycles with five sessions.The research subjects consisted of 27 fourth grade students at SDN Sukun 2 inMalang City. Data collection techniques included observation, testing, anddocumentation. The results showed that the percentage of students meeting thestandard increased from 40,74% to 96,30%, while the average student score rosefrom 68,44 to 84,51. The implementation of the PBL model supported by the MysteryBox media was effective in improving the numeracy literacy skills of elementaryschool students.
