Benih merupakan unsur vital dalam keberhasilan budidaya tanaman, karena menjadi cikal bakal kehidupan tanaman dan berperan penting dalam penentuan hasil usaha tani. Namun, permasalahan terkait benih masih menjadi kendala utama dalam pengembangan komoditas pertanian, termasuk padi. Beberapa permasalahan tersebut antara lain ketidaktepatan dalam pemilihan benih, perubahan iklim, serta gangguan hama dan penyakit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sikap petani terhadap penggunaan benih bersertifikat, melihat peningkatan penggunaannya, dan dampaknya terhadap hasil produksi padi. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Desa Padangloang, Kecamatan Dua Pitue, Kabupaten Sidenreng Rappang, selama Januari hingga April 2025, dengan metode survei terhadap 176 petani dari 11 kelompok tani menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, kuesioner, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasilnya, 56,25% petani menggunakan benih bersertifikat, 93,93% menyatakan kualitasnya baik, dan 92,92% menilai manfaatnya sebanding. Korelasi signifikan ditemukan pada variabel pendidikan, pengetahuan varietas, dan tempat perolehan benih. Seed is a vital element in the success of crop cultivation, as it is the forerunner of plant life and plays an important role in determining the results of farming. However, problems related to seeds are still a major obstacle in the development of agricultural commodities, including rice. Some of these problems include inaccuracy in seed selection, climate change, and pest and disease problems. This study aims to analyze farmers' attitudes towards the use of certified seeds, see the increase in their use, and their impact on rice production. The research was conducted in Padangloang Village, Dua Pitue Subdistrict, Sidenreng Rappang District, from January to April 2025, using a survey method on 176 farmers from 11 farmer groups using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. As a result, 56.25% of farmers used certified seeds, 93.93% stated the quality was good, and 92.92% rated the benefits as comparable. Significant correlations were found in the variables of education, varietal knowledge, and place of acquisition.
