Abstract

The Community Service Program (PKM) was conducted through training, mentoring, and assistance in the development of learning media using Canva, with the aim of enhancing digital literacy skills. The activity was held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at SMP Negeri 1 Maros, located in Maros Regency, South Sulawesi Province. The participants of the PKM activity were school teachers from across Maros Regency. The materials presented during the activity included: Concepts and theories of learning media; Types of learning media; Development of learning media using Canva; Implementation of Canva-based learning media in classroom instruction to enhance digital literacy skills. The outcomes achieved from the PKM activity were as follows: Increased competence and knowledge regarding the concepts and theories of IT-based learning media; Improved skills and capabilities in developing learning media using Canva; The ability to implement learning media developed with Canva in classroom teaching; Enhanced digital literacy skills among teachers in developing digital learning media using Canva; Improved IT proficiency and digital literacy skills among students through the use of IT-based learning media in classroom instruction. The outputs of the program included: A report on the implementation of the PKM activity; A scientific article published in a nationally accredited journal with an ISBN; An article published in print or electronic mass media; A video documenting the activity, widely published through online platforms such as YouTube; Improved empowerment of partner schools in line with the identified challenges and needs.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transformed human–computer interaction toward more natural and intuitive vision-based gesture systems. Hand Gesture Recognition (HGR) plays a crucial role in the development of interactive learning media, particularly for recognizing finger gestures representing numbers 1–5. However, conventional HGR systems are predominantly built upon culturally biased datasets, especially those derived from American Sign Language, which may lead to misinterpretation and normative mismatch across different cultural contexts. This study initiates the development of a culturally inclusive hand gesture dataset for numbers 1–5 by incorporating diverse cultural finger-counting habits. Feature extraction is performed using the MediaPipe Hands framework to obtain accurate and efficient hand landmarks. The constructed dataset is then utilized to train a gesture classification model for interactive mathematics learning applications. Experimental results show that the model achieves strong performance in certain classes, particularly for classes 1 and 5, with a recall of 1.00 and the highest f1-score of 0.85. However, challenges remain in classifying classes 3 and 4 due to class imbalance, resulting in lower recall and f1-scores. Although the overall accuracy reaches 66%, this imbalance indicates the need for further optimization in training strategies to improve model generalization. The proposed dataset is expected to serve as a more relevant and culturally inclusive foundation for developing safe, accurate, and adaptive HGR-based interactive mathematics learning systems.

Abstract

Penelitian ini penting karena membantu Anda memahami pengaruh kombinasi kecerdasan terhadap prestasi belajar transformasi geometri. Sehingga penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh kecerdasan logis-matematis, interpersonal, visual-spasial, dan eksistensial terhadap prestasi belajar transformasi geometri siswa kelas IX SMP IT Putri Wahdah Islamiyah Makassar. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain ex-post facto pada 30 siswa yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian terdiri atas angket kecerdasan majemuk dan tes prestasi belajar yang mencakup materi translasi, refleksi, rotasi, dan dilatasi. Data dianalisis melalui statistik deskriptif, uji kelayakan instrumen, analisis faktor, dan regresi logistik ordinal. Hasil deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa kecerdasan logis-matematis, interpersonal, dan visual-spasial mayoritas berada pada kategori tinggi, sedangkan kecerdasan eksistensial didominasi kategori sangat tinggi. Prestasi belajar transformasi geometri siswa relatif heterogen, dengan proporsi tertinggi pada kategori tinggi (36,67%) namun masih terdapat 26,67% siswa berada pada kategori sangat rendah. Hasil regresi logistik ordinal memperlihatkan bahwa kecerdasan logis-matematis merupakan satu-satunya variabel yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap prestasi belajar (p < 0,05). Sebaliknya, kecerdasan interpersonal, visual-spasial, dan eksistensial tidak menunjukkan pengaruh signifikan, meskipun secara teoretis berkaitan dengan pembelajaran geometri. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa penguasaan transformasi geometri lebih ditentukan oleh kemampuan penalaran matematis dibandingkan dimensi kecerdasan lainnya yang bersifat pendukung. Berdasarkan kesimpulan penelitian, disarankan agar penelitian selanjutnya melibatkan jumlah sampel yang lebih besar, memperluas konteks sekolah, dan menggunakan desain mixed methods untuk menggali mekanisme hubungan antar kecerdasan secara lebih mendalam
