Abstract

Education is a strategic effort to shape individuals with moral, spiritual, and professional character. In this context, the internalization of ilahiyah and insaniyah values is a key factor in the learning process, especially in microteaching courses. This study aims to examine the implementation of divine and human values in microteaching to shape prospective professional teachers with character. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with a content analysis approach. Data were collected through observation and document analysis. The results indicate that the integration of ilahiyah and insaniyah values in microteaching is achieved through various strategies, such as providing real-life examples, crisis reflection, and reinforcing the value of honesty in teaching practices. The internalization of these values has been proven to enhance spiritual awareness, empathy, and the ability to educate students among prospective teachers. Thus, value-based microteaching not only enhances professional competence but also shapes teachers with noble character and moral responsibility toward students.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has significantly influenced the lifestyle and behavior of young people, including in moral aspects. Online gaming, as one of the most popular forms of digital entertainment, is often associated with both positive and negative behavioral changes among adolescents. This study aims to examine how online gaming habits influence changes in adolescents’ morals and to identify possible solutions to these moral issues. This study employs a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, using data obtained from in-depth interviews with twenty informants, including parents, school teachers, and community leaders. The informants were selected through purposive sampling. The interview data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman analysis model. Overall, the findings reveal five negative impacts of online gaming habits on adolescents’ moral development: i) laziness, ii) disobedience to parents, iii) selfishness, iv) temperamental behavior, and v) dishonesty. The results of this study can serve as preliminary data for future research examining similar issues in different contexts and topics.

Abstract

Incorporating technology into the learning process has resulted in the development of various new media for lecturers to use in delivering subject matter. Furthermore, the material presented is intended to enable students to develop creative and innovative ideas in higher education vocational majors in makeup and beauty. The purpose of this study is to determine how effective the flipbook-based module is in increasing student creativity in nail art subject at the Department of Beauty and Cosmetology at Universitas Negeri Padang. This study employs a quantitative and experimental approach (Group Pretest-Posttest Design). Data were collected from thirty respondents using a Likert scale questionnaire and a pre-test and post-test of nail art practice skills. All respondents are students in the Department of Cosmetology and Beauty, Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality, for the 2021/2022 academic year. All data were then analyzed descriptively and correlated using SPSS 23 software. Overall, the analysis results showed that using flip book-based e-modules could increase students' creativity in nail art subjects. These results can be proven by the effectiveness test of students' creativity, with an average value of 71.9%. Furthermore, the correlation analysis revealed a significant value of 0.05 and a t-score of 7.083> t-table of 2.045. The results of this study imply that it can provide references for education in choosing learning media and strategies for delivering learning materials that are effective in increasing creativity. Furthermore, this can be used as a basis for further development to produce effective media and learning approaches.

Abstract

This study examines the relationships between authoritative parenting or keibubapaan autoritatif (KA), parents’ reading attitudes or sikap membaca Ibu Bapa (SMIB), early literacy activities or aktiviti literasi awal (ALA), and students’ reading comprehension which measured by skor kefahaman membaca (SKORKM), focusing on the role of ALA as a mediator. Utilizing cross-sectional surveys in a quantitative approach, data were collected from 393 year-5 pupils and their parents across 15 primary schools in Kelantan, Malaysia. Participants were selected through a multilevel random sampling method. The research design incorporated both descriptive statistics and inferential analysis using structural equation modeling. The structural path analysis revealed that only ALA had a significant direct influence on SKORKM. Moreover, ALA fully mediated the relationships between KA and SKORKM, as well as between SMIB and children’s reading comprehension. These findings suggest that KA and positive parental reading attitudes impact SKORKM primarily through the practice of ALA at home. The study successfully developed a new structural equation model that elucidates how family contextual factors, including KA, SMIB, and ALA, are associated with SKORKM achievement.
