Abstract

The implementation of citizen reporting in villages is still hampered by residents' limited knowledge and skills in using digital devices, a lack of understanding of effective news writing, and limited access to information dissemination. This Community Service Program (PKM) activity aims to improve digital literacy, particularly smartphone use, and provide an understanding of the concept, benefits, and practices of citizen journalism. In addition, this activity also trains participants to access and disseminate information through village websites, and motivates them to utilize technology to develop village potential and the village economy. The PKM implementation methods include: (a) needs analysis, (b) designing a training model, (c) implementation using participatory methods, questions and answers, and demonstrations, and (d) evaluation of activity results. The results indicate that this activity is effective in increasing the digital literacy of village officials and the community, as well as strengthening the understanding and practice of citizen journalism. The evaluation also shows a significant increase in the technical and non-technical competencies of participants, as well as a growing awareness and collaborative spirit between village officials and the community in supporting information transparency and digital-based empowerment.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to formulate a planning concept for the Luwu Cultural Museum building in Palopo City equipped with facilities and infrastructure appropriate to the function of a museum building. In addition, this research also aims to design the physical form of the Luwu Cultural Museum so that it can meet building facility requirements based on applicable architectural standards. This research employs a descriptive approach using a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. The qualitative approach focuses on in-depth observation to produce a more comprehensive understanding of the studied phenomenon. This method is dynamic and flexible because it emphasizes descriptive explanation and case study exploration, including observation and comparison of two or more similar museum buildings. Meanwhile, the quantitative approach is used to present numerical and statistical data in order to obtain detailed information regarding the variables required in the planning and design process. The results indicate that the planning of facilities and infrastructure supporting the construction of the Luwu Cultural Museum in Palopo City must be adjusted to existing needs and applicable standards. The museum is designed to meet comfort, safety, and cleanliness aspects in accordance with regulations governing tourism facilities and environmental management. Furthermore, the selected site in Batupasi District, Palopo City, South Sulawesi, has met the established requirements and regulations.
