Abstract

The utilization of the schoolyard in the learning process involves the creation of the teacher in utilizing and practicing it as a learning medium. This, coupled with the support of the student's guardians, will complement the achievement of educational goals in early childhood. This activity aims to provide education in the form of counseling and training on the use of schoolyards as educational media so that managers, teachers, and parents of students can understand the importance of the existence of a schoolyard, and besides, that they can also understand how to use the schoolyard as an educational medium for children, students, increase the desire and cooperation of managers, teachers, and parents of students to create a comfortable environment by utilizing and arranging a beautiful and educational schoolyard. To achieve the goals and objectives, this activity is carried out using providing education in the form of counseling and training. The results of the implementation of this activity help increase the knowledge, insight, skills, and creativity of teachers, students, and guardians of students in the use and arrangement of the schoolyard as an educational park which also supports the creation of a beautiful yard environment.

Abstract

This study takes the case of traditional fishing boats in the Beba Fish Landing Base, Takalar Regency, South Sulawesi. These fishing boats still use conventional fish catch shelters. This method is expensive and risks the quality of fish freshness and even damage to the caught fish. To overcome the problem, a cold storage design is carried out as a place to store fish catches. This study aims to 1) design a cold storage with a capacity of 1 ton of fish with a cooling temperature of 2 - 0°C; 2) calculate the required power and cost; 3) calculate Break Even Point (BEP). The results of this study obtained a cold storage design with dimensions of 248.2 cm x 120.4 cm and a height of 84 cm. The inner and outer walls of cold storage are made of stainless material, while the middle of the Styrofoam is an insulating material. The refrigerant used is R 134 a. Indoor cooling using an air misting system. Cold Storage power 593 Watt at 220 Volt AC voltage. The cost of making 1 cold storage unit is IDR 22.350.000 and the power of a 1 hp generator is IDR 4.000.000, so the total is IDR 26.350.000. Break Even Point (BEP) from the draft is 9,4 months. The results of this design and, maintaining the freshness fish, also reduce the operational costs of traditional fishers.

Abstract

Pertumbuhan kota sangat cepat dalam kurun waktu relatif singkat. Adanya tuntutan sarana dan prasarana, tuntutan akan pusat pertokoan, mall, kawasan permukiman baru, daerah industri, termasuk makin semaraknya kegiatan di bidang pariwisata menyebabkan lahan perkotaan semakin padat. Banyaknya lahan terbangun semakin menekan lahan terbuka. Perubahan fungsi lanskap tersebut tentu memiliki dampak terhadap peningkatan temperatur udara dan pembentukan pulau panas (heat island) di kawasan kota. Makalah ini fokus akan melihat perubahan fungsi lanskap yang terjadi di Kota Makassar dari beberapa dekade. Perubahan lanskap dalam hal ini merupakan perubahan penggunaan lahan dan fungsi lanskap, meliputi: lahan terbangun (permukiman, pertokoan, perkantoran bangunan pemerintah, fasilitas umum, dan lai-lain), lahan terbuka (taman / lapangan), lahan berair (tambak, rawa-rawa, sungai, waduk dan kanal), lahan garapan (persawahan), dan lahan hijau (kebun dan hutan). Perubahan fungsi lanskap dari area terbuka menjadi kota yang tertutup dan padat, mencerminkan tingginya temperatur udara di lingkungan tersebut. Untuk mendapatkan dukungan data yang akurat dilakukan dokumentasi yang relevan, terkait; data tutupan lahan, interpretasi peta sejarah, foto udara dan pengumpulan data statistik.

Abstract

Chicken feather waste, after being finely chopped, is converted into feather panels which can be an alternative material in architecture. Chicken slaughter waste produces 4-9% of live weight in the form of feathers, requiring technology to make it a renewable alternative material. This research aims to process chicken feather waste into alternative materials for room dividers and building walls, reducing environmental impacts. Scanning is carried out to analyze the surface characteristics of the panels before they are applied as environmentally friendly materials. Previous research recorded a chicken feather panel density of 0.38-0.4, categorizing it as a soft stiff fiberboard material. Experimental engineering methods and material scanning in the microstructure laboratory using SEM reveal surface topography and material composition. The test results show that chicken feather panels can be recommended as a new alternative material in architecture. This discovery has the potential to use chicken feather waste in a sustainable manner, providing an environmentally friendly alternative and reducing the burden on the environment. The integration of these materials can enrich innovation in sustainable construction.

Abstract

Ketersediaan taman pada suatu permukiman memberikan gambaran akan kualitas lingkungan pada kawasan tersebut. Demikian halnya dengan Kawasan permukiman padat di RW 005 Kelurahan Banta-bantaeng Kecamatan Rappocini Kota Makassar yang memperlihatkan suatu Kawasan yang kumuh dan jauh dari kondisi peermukiman yang sehat. Tujuan dan target yang ingin dicapai dalam pelaksanaan program PKM ini adalah 1). Pembuatan Area Hijau sebagai upaya untuk mendukung program Longgar (Lorong Garden), 2) meningkatkan kualitas lingkungan permukiman padat, 3). Memberikan edukasi dan penyuluhan tentang Ruang Terbuka Hijau dengan melibatkan masyarakat pada kawasan permukiman dalam pembuatan vertical horizontal garden guna mewujudkan kawasan permukiman hijau, 4). Peningkatan pengetahuan dan kesadaran tentang lingkungan yang sehat dan indah yang dapat berpengaruh pada kehidupan sosial, budaya dan ekonomi masyarakat. Metode yang dipakai adalah metode pendekatan partisipatif dengan metode diskusi dan pelibatan langsung dalam pembuatan vertical-horizontal garden untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dalam membuat, menata dan memanfaatkan Ruang Terbuka serta pengetahuan tentang pemanfaatan pekarangan dan Lorong/gang sebagai area hijau. Setelah mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan dan edukasi, para peserta sudah memahami cara memanfaatkan ruang-ruang sempit di lorong/gang yang ada di depan rumah mereka dengan membuat vertical garden.

Abstract

The growth of the city very quickly in a relatively short period. Their demands of facilities and infrastructure, the demand for shopping centers, mall, new residential areas, industrial areas, and others led to increasingly dense urban land. The number of smaller plots of open land increasingly pressing. Function changes the landscape certainly has an impact on the increase in air temperature and the formation of heat islands in urban areas. This paper focuses will see changes in the landscape functions that occur in the city of Makassar from several decades. The changing landscape in this case is a change in land use and function of landscapes, include: developed and undeveloped land (housing, shops, offices, government buildings, public facilities, etc.), open land (garden / field), land aqueous (ponds, marshes, rivers, reservoirs and canals), arable land (paddy), and green land (garden and forest). Function changes the landscape of the open area into the city closed and dense, reflecting the high temperatures in the neighborhood. To obtain accurate data do support the relevant documentation, related; land cover data, interpretation of historical maps, aerial photographs and the collection of statistical data.

Abstract

Karebosi Field is one of the green open spaces in Makassar City that attracts many visitors. As one of the green open spaces that functions as a recreation area, Karebosi Field has not fully provided comfort to its visitors. Along with the trend of halal recreation that is starting to be of interest to many people, Karebosi Field has the potential to be developed as a halal recreation area. This study aims to analyze the potential of Karebosi Field as a halal recreation area with a city morphology approach. A scoring analysis method is used to find the potential of Karebosi Field as a halal recreation area based on data obtained through field survey results. The results of this study are to find the potential of Karebosi Field as a halal recreation area with a city morphology approach.

Abstract

One of the marine tourism trends that is starting to develop in Indonesia is diving tourism, which known as "diving". Seeing from the potential for marine tourism in various regions, there is Selayar Islands Regency which is one of the areas in Indonesia that has abundant underwater natural resources and has dozens of diving spots. It is undeniable that diving tourism, which is increasingly popular, opens economic taps for the surrounding community but also poses ecological challenges. This is because not all visitors are equipped with basic knowledge about how to treat marine life and coral reefs. Therefore educational facilities are needed in the realm of diving tourism to increase the knowledge and awareness of tourists which function as a means of diving training for visitors. Training facilities or dive centers are expected to be able to support tourism so that this dive center is intended to improve the quality of tourism and the sustainability of underwater ecosystems. The dive center in Selayar Islands Regency is planned using a Tropical Architecture concept approach so that later the building is expected to be able to adapt according to the local climate with its functions and characteristics.

Abstract

Utilization of cardboard waste In addition to helping reduce the pile of garbage, cardboard waste can also be processed into aesthetic and economically valuable handicraft products. To utilize cardboard waste, it needs to be supported by knowledge and skills in processing it. This PKM activity aims to provide education on using cardboard waste in handicraft products. The target of the PKM program is aimed at residents of RT 02. RW. 05, Tamangapa Village who live not far from the Tamangapa TPA. The method of implementing PKM activities is carried out by providing education and technical guidance on making handicraft products from cardboard waste. The results of implementing this activity are increasing public awareness of the importance of waste management. This can be seen from the enthusiasm of the participants in participating in the entire series of activities and their active participation in the production process. In addition, this activity also succeeded in improving the skills of participants in processing cardboard waste into products that have aesthetic and economic value.
