Abstract

This study aims to analyze the correlation between workload and job stress among inpatient ward nurses at RSU Siaga Medika Purbalingga. Using a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design, the research involved 98 respondents selected through total sampling. Data collection employed validated instruments for workload and job stress, while data analysis used univariate and bivariate tests with Chi-Square. The results showed that 37.8% of nurses experienced moderate workload, 30.6% heavy workload, and 31.6% light workload. Regarding job stress, 40.8% were in the moderate category, 30.6% in the high category, and 28.6% in the low category. The Chi-Square test indicated a significant correlation between workload and job stress (p = 0.000 < 0.05). It can be concluded that workload is closely associated with the stress level of nurses. Hospitals should develop workload management strategies and stress-prevention programs to improve nurses’ well-being and service quality.
