Abstract

This study addresses inefficiencies in higher education administration that hinder the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4), particularly in managing shared academic resources like laboratories. It presents the design, implementation, and evaluation of a web-based laboratory booking system developed using the Waterfall model within the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), utilizing JavaServer Pages (JSP) and MySQL. The system features real-time lab availability tracking, automated booking, and an integrated administrative dashboard. Usability was assessed through quantitative testing and a System Usability Scale (SUS) survey involving 30 participants, including students and lab staff. Results showed a task completion rate above 95% and an average SUS score of 83.6, categorized as “excellent” and within the top usability percentile. The findings demonstrate that a systematically developed web-based solution can substantially enhance administrative efficiency, resource utilization, and user satisfaction. Moreover, the research provides a scalable and replicable model for academic institutions aiming for digital transformation, underscoring that improving operational systems is a critical step toward realizing the goals of quality education and institutional sustainability aligned with SDG 4.

Abstract

Student entrepreneurs are a strategic group that plays a crucial role in creating economic independence and new jobs in the future. However, many lack adequate financial management skills. Unplanned financial management, mixing personal and business finances, and a lack of understanding of business legality often hinder the sustainability of student businesses. This community service activity aims to enhance financial literacy and knowledge of business law for student entrepreneurs, enabling them to secure decent work and contribute to sustainable economic growth. The program partners are active students who have or are currently running independent businesses. The main challenges faced are poor business financial management skills and the lack of formal legality due to the absence of a Business Identification Number (BIN). The implementation method included practice-based online training and simulation mentoring using the Online Single Submission (OSS) system. The activity took place on August 8, 2025, via Zoom Meeting and was attended by 22 participants. The results showed an increase in participants' understanding of transaction recording, preparing simple financial reports, and awareness of the importance of business legality. Several participants have also successfully registered for their NIB independently. This activity makes a significant contribution to strengthening the capacity of students as young entrepreneurs who are professional, competitive, and contribute to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 8SDG.

Abstract

This study examines the accountability practices of Special Hajj Organizers (PIHK) in Yogyakarta Province using Stewart’s (1984) accountability ladder, which includes five levels: honesty and legality, process, performance, program, and policy accountability. A qualitative approach was used, with data collected through interviews and documents related to PIHK accountability. The study involved five key informants consisting of PIHK leaders, finance staff, and pilgrims from PT Citra Wisata Dunia and PT Al Anshor Madinah Barokah. The findings show strong accountability practices at the levels of honesty and legality, process, performance, and program accountability. However, policy accountability appears weak due to the lack of triangulable sources and data. This study is the first to investigate accountability in the special Hajj services managed by travel agencies. Previous studies have focused on accountability in religious organizations, overlooking accountability in religious rituals that require economic information, such as the Hajj pilgrimage.
