Abstract

Waste is still a big problem in various parts of Indonesia, including in the West Java area. According to the West Java Provincial Environment Agency (2024), waste from all districts and cities in the West Java area reaches 25,000 tons per month. Organic waste management in Manglayang Village only relies on cleaners who will transport garbage every week, during a week the garbage is allowed to accumulate in front of the yard so that it causes an unpleasant odor and a lot of flies. The purpose of this study is to reduce organic waste by the bioconversion method which uses larvae to transform organic waste. This research uses the Participaory Action Research technique, namely by approaching socialization and discussion with the community. The results of the study showed the effectiveness of maggot in degrading organic waste for 21 days as much as 18 kilograms with 56 grams of ungranulated waste. The use of BSF maggot in managing organic waste in Manglayang Village 003/001 can be chosen as an alternative to reduce waste which is a problem.

Abstract

Tuberkulosis (TB) adalah suatu penyakit menular yang disebabkan oleh kuman Mycobacterium tuberculosis. pemeriksaan mikroskopik dahak adalah komponen kunci dalam program penanggulangan TB untuk menegakkan diagnosis, evaluasi dan tindak lanjut pengobatan. Berdasarkan data dari Puskesmas Parongpong, bahwa penelusuran kasus TB di Desa Cihanjuang Rahayu harus tetap dilakukan meskipun di tengah kondisi pandemi COVID-19. Tujuan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah untuk mengurangi penularan penyakit tuberculosis pada masyarakat Desa Cihanjuang, Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Pelaksanaan dilakukan melalui metode service learning dengan kegiatan penyuluhan teknik ceramah pada masyarakat, dengan menerapkan social distancing mengingat masih dalam kondisi pandemi. Pemeriksaan TB dilakukan dengan mendatangi rumah masyarakat berdasarkan data yang diperoleh dari Puskesmas setempat. Setelah dilakukan pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini, simpulan yang dapat diambil bagi masyarakat Desa Cihanjuang DESA CIHANJUANG RAHAYU yaitu masyarakat memiliki kesadaran untuk berpartisipasi aktif dalam mencari informasi mengenai tuberkulosis.

Abstract

21st-century skills have become standard in graduate profiles designed by the government, including for prospective Medical Laboratory Technologists (ATLM). One of the skills that the government focuses on is developing literacy skills. Therefore, this research aims to develop RADEC-based teaching materials that can facilitate the development of literacy skills for prospective ATLM students. The research method used is Development & Validation whose steps consist of 1) literature review; 2) construction; and 3) Improvement. The development was carried out by involving 20 students from the Medical Laboratory Technology Study Program. The instruments used in the data collection process were expert validation sheets and readability test sheets. The research results show that teaching materials have very good validity (>80% suitability) in facilitating the development of scientific literacy skills. Therefore, the teaching materials developed can be implemented in lectures.
