Abstract

The increase in dengue fever (DHF) cases in 2024 has become a serious global concern, with 14 million cases and over 10,000 deaths reported worldwide. In Indonesia, children aged 5–14 years are the most affected group, with 138,465 cases. Mothers play a crucial role in preventing DHF in children. Mothers with good knowledge of early signs and symptoms can help ensure faster treatment and prevent severe complications. Objective: This study aims to describe the level of mothers' knowledge in detecting early signs of DHF in children aged 5–14 years in Paseban Village, Klaten Regency. Method: This is a descriptive quantitative study using purposive sampling. The population consisted of 699 mothers with children aged 5–14 years, and 100 respondents were selected as samples. A questionnaire with 29 validated and reliable items was used as the research instrument. Results: Most mothers (76%) in Paseban Village had good knowledge of early DHF detection. Implication: These findings suggest that most mothers are already well-informed about recognizing early symptoms of DHF. This reflects the positive impact of health education provided through health workers and media, which should be continued and expanded to strengthen DHF prevention efforts.

Abstract

Luka bakar adalah cedera pada kulit atau jaringan yang disebabkan oleh panas, listrik, gesekan, atau kontak dengan bahan kimia. Ini adalah jenis trauma dengan morbiditas (kecatatan) dan mortalitas (kematian) yang tinggi. Kebiasaan masyarakat yang kurang tepat akibat kurangnya informasi dan pengetahuan, banyak orang memberikan pertolongan pertama pada luka bakar dengan mengoleskan pasta gigi, mentega, kecap, dan minyak pada area yang terluka. Tujuan dari program ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan remaja dalam pemberian pertolongan pertama luka bakar. Metode yang digunakan penyuluhan ini diberikan penjelasan tentang cara memberikan pertolongan pertama pada luka bakar, melalui penggunaan kuisioner dan wawancara. Hasil pengabdian ini setelah dilakukan penyuluhan peserta diberikan 10 pertanyaan tentang materi yang sudah diberikan untuk mengukur atau melihat pengetahuan sebelum dan setelah penyuluhan, hasil pengetahuan siswa meningkat, dengan 12 siswa memperoleh hasil semua benar, 4 siswa memperoleh hasil benar 9, 4 siswa memperoleh hasil benar 8, 1 siswa memperoleh hasil benar 7, dan 6 siswa memperoleh hasil benar 6. Dengan program  ini mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang pertolongan pertama pada luka kabar. Disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perubahan yang signifikan terhadap hasil yang diperoleh siswa MTs Aswaja sebelum dan sesusah dilakukan penyuluhan kesehatan pemberian pertolongan pertama luka bakar

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes through the implementation of a digital-based e-book in Economics subject for Grade X students at SMA Negeri 6 Surabaya. The problem identified is students’ low understanding of the material due to the use of conventional and less interactive learning resources. This research employs a Collaborative Classroom Action Research approach involving teachers and lecturers in planning, implementing, and reflecting on instructional actions. The research subjects were 36 students from class X-1. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests, classroom observations, student response questionnaires, and reflective interviews. The results showed an increase in the average score from 63.6 (pre-cycle) to 81.8 (cycle I) and 88.7 (cycle II). N-Gain analysis indicated improvement from moderate (0.50) to high category (0.74). Students also gave positive feedback on the e-book, highlighting its attractive design, accessible content, and integration of formative assessments. The study concludes that an e-book developed based on cognitive learning theory and multimedia learning principles is effective in enhancing conceptual understanding, active engagement, and student autonomy. The novelty of this research lies in the iterative design of the e-book based on student feedback and its collaborative development between teachers and academic practitioners.
