Abstract

This research is motivated by the low argumentation skills of students, which are marked by not being accustomed to expressing their opinions. One way to improve students' argumentation skills is to use a problem-based learning model assisted by interactive videos. The purpose of this study was to describe the influence of the problem-based learning model assisted by interactive videos on the argumentation skills of grade IV students of SDN Jatihurip, Sumedang Utara District, Sumedang Regency in the 2023/2024 academic year on the material of Gravitational Force. The method used in this study was a pre-experimental type of one group pretest-posttest design. The data collection technique in this study was a test technique consisting of a pretest and posttest. Based on the results of data analysis through the t-test, the t-value is 3.16 ≥ t-table 2.01, so H1 is accepted and Ho is rejected, meaning that there is a significant difference in pretest and posttest values ​​from the application of the interactive video-assisted problem-based learning model on the argumentation skills of grade IV students of SDN Jatihurip, Sumedang Utara District, Sumedang Regency in the 2023/2024 Academic Year on the material of gravitational force. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of the interactive video-assisted problem-based learning model has a significant effect on the argumentation skills of grade IV students of SDN Jatihurip, Sumedang Utara District, Sumedang Regency in the 2023/2024 Academic Year on the material of gravitational force.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan proses sains dan sikap ilmiah rasa ingin tahu siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing terhadap keterampilan proses sains dan sikap ilmiah rasa ingin tahu siswa pada materi zat tunggal dan campuran. Metode penelitian pra eksperimen dengan one group pretest-posttest design . Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yakni tes dan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan nilai rata-rata keterampilan proses sains dan sikap ilmiah rasa ingin tahu siswa sebelum dan sesudah diterapkannya model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing. Hal tersebut dibuktikan melalui hasil analisis menggunakan uji t pada taraf signifikasi 5% diperoleh sig.(2- tailed ) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 maka H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Hasil tersebut diperkuat dengan pengujian effect size , diperoleh nilai sebesar 1,92 untuk keterampilan proses sains dan 2,44 untuk sikap ilmiah rasa ingin tahu siswa dengan klasifikasi pengaruh yang sangat besar. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing terhadap keterampilan proses sains dan sikap ilmiah rasa ingin tahu siswa kelas V SDN Cipameungpeuk Kecamatan Sumedang Selatan Kabupaten Sumedang Tahun Pelajaran 2023/2024. Namun, meskipun terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran inkuiri, namun pembelajaran belum menggunakan media pembelajaran, sehingga perlu pengembangan lebih menggunakan media pembelajaran.

Abstract

Speaking skills are essential language competencies that play a vital role in daily life and form an integral part of Indonesian language learning in elementary schools. However, students speaking abilities remain low, with students being passive during interactions and lacking confidence. This condition occurs due to teacher-centered learning methods. This study aims to determine the process, results, and improvement of the speaking skills of fifth-grade elementary school students in North Sumedang District for the 2025/2026 academic year using the Group Investigation model. The method employed was a quasi-experiment with cluster random sampling, dividing the population of 122 students into three regional clusters: urban, semi-urban, and border schools, resulting in an effective sample size of 64 students. The research instruments included teaching modules, observation sheets, performance assessment tests, and learning motivation questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted using a non-parametric statistical approach through the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test via SPSS version 27. The data analysis results showed a  value of -6,960 with a  of -1,96, yielding the condition    with a significance value of 0,000 < 0,05. This is further supported by the fact that all 64 students (100%) experienced a significant score increase with an average of 91 in the very good category. Therefore, the success level of speaking instruction through the Group Investigation model is high.
