Abstract

About 15 % to 20 % of maternal mortality due to postpartum hemorrhage caused by retained placenta. There are risk factors that lead to retained placenta in labor. The purpose of this study was to determine the risk factors which most influence the incidence of retained placenta. This was observational analytic study with case control study design. The population were all mothers who were treated in Regional Public Hospital of Muntilan at January 2019 to November 2022. The sampling method of case used simple random sampling technique. Data were obtained from medical records. Analysis which used in this study were chi square test. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the spacing of delivery (p-value = 0.004) in the case group and the control group, while the risk factors for age, parity, and history of caesarean section did not show a significant relationship to the incidence of retained placenta (p> 0.05). Delivery interval is a risk factor that influences the incidence of retained placenta in Regional Public Hospital of Muntilan.

Background: Good health education will help clients recognize their needs to choose the best method and make decisions that best suit their health conditions and be consistent in their use. Video media is a digital-based media that is effectively used as a means of providing health education. Determine the effectiveness of health education via video on attitudes and use of MKJP.Methods: The type of research is quasi-experimental quantitative research nonequivalent control group design. The intervention group was given the video, and the control group was given the video leaflet. Research instrument with questionnaire. Data were analyzed with Mann Whitney and Chi-Square.Results: In the group that was given education by video, there was a significant difference before and after being given the intervention, expressed as a value p value of 0,000. Analysis results chi square shows that there is a difference in the use of MKJP by mothers giving birth before and after being given the intervention, expressed as a value p value of 0.007 (<0.05).Conclusion: Video is an educational medium that can increase attitudes and choices of birth control after childbirth.
