Abstract

Church ministry is an activity to build the congregation towards spiritual maturity and experience with Christ in God's field. There are many service activities that the church has to serve fellow internal and external congregations. However, it cannot be denied that service which is supposed to provide feelings of gratitude, happiness, and a thirst for the meaning of serving others, is problematic because this service causes deep psychological fatigue (burnout). Burnout is a problem for many servants of God, especially spiritual leaders, which will cause a decrease in the quality of service, conflict, and have an impact on decreasing physical health as well as psychological and mental health. The aim of this research is to identify and analyze burnout management among especially church leaders, as well as having the ability to save from excessive stress towards enlightenment. The methodology used is library research accompanied by observations in service areas and also when interactive dialogue occurs during leadership-themed seminars. It was concluded that spiritual leaders, apart from having resilience based on the word of God, are also equipped with the science of emotional control and are especially intelligent in handling burnout with positive and constructive output.

Abstract

Every organization cannot be separated from the word leadership, namely the person who leads the organization, especially the church, towards the vision that has been set. Church leadership as an organization obviously has many situations where the church does not run according to the expected vision. Bad situations arise such as: the organization stagnates and even regresses, or even the organization has complex problems such as internal conflicts, divisions, services not going well, low motivation to serve, and so on. The purpose of this research is to identify and analyze the functions of leadership, especially in the church, whether it is running or not. The functions described will be used as a barometer of leadership performance. The methodology used by the researchers is a qualitative method of literacy studies and observations to several churches experiencing problems of decline and stagnation. The researcher's hypothesis is how leaders perform leadership functions in running a church organization. By exercising leadership functions such as: influence, change, transformation, motivation, and vision, it is hoped that the organization can operate according to agreed upon expectations. The important thing is how leaders rebuild their leadership functions.

Abstract

This study explores and compares the concept of happiness in Stoic philosophy and the teachings of Jesus, focusing on the idea of “Ataraxia” in Stoicism and “Shalom” in the Judeo-Christian tradition. The study aims to analyze the differences and similarities between the two views, as well as their implications for contemporary understandings of happiness. Through textual analysis of classical Stoic writings and the New Testament, the study investigates how these two traditions understand the source, nature and attainment of happiness. Stoicism emphasizes Ataraxia as a state of inner calm achieved through self-acceptance and mastery, while the teachings of Jesus promote Shalom as a holistic peace rooted in relationships with God and others. Preliminary findings suggest that despite significant differences in metaphysical foundations and ultimate goals, both traditions offer valuable insights into the role of acceptance, wisdom and transcendence in the attainment of true happiness. This research contributes to the dialogue between classical philosophy and Christian theology, while offering new perspectives for understanding and pursuing happiness in a modern context.

Abstract

Ambidextrous leadership in the context of the church presents a new paradigm that requires leaders to balance innovation exploration with resource exploitation for sustainable organizational growth. This article aims to analyze the role of ambidextrous leadership in church organizations by examining the dynamics between developing new ministries and preserving core church values. Through literature review and case studies of several churches, it was found that leaders who can integrate exploration and exploitation will be able to increase congregational participation, expand the scope of ministry, and strengthen the church's competitiveness amid social and technological changes. The research findings emphasize the importance of adaptive capacity to change, innovation, and resource support in achieving effective ambidextrous leadership. The practical implications of this research provide strategic recommendations for church leaders to integrate innovation and tradition, ensuring relevant and sustainable church growth in the contemporary era.
