Abstract

The implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) as an effort to control the COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on various sectors, including tourism. This study aims to analyze the effect of PPKM on tourists' interest in visiting the Salib Kasih Tarutung tourist destination. This study uses a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents who have visited Salib Kasih Tarutung before and during the PPKM period. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical tests and simple linear regression. The results showed that there was a decrease in tourists' interest in visiting Salib Kasih Tarutung during the PPKM period. Factors such as mobility restrictions, concerns about virus transmission, and decreased income were the main causes of the decline in interest. However, some tourists still showed interest in visiting by paying attention to strict health protocols. This research provides important implications for tourist destination managers and related stakeholders to develop adaptive strategies in dealing with pandemic situations. It is important to increase tourism promotion that focuses on the safety and comfort of tourists, as well as provide facilities and services that comply with health protocols. In addition, collaboration between the government, tourist destination managers, and the local community is also needed to restore the tourism sector after PPKM.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of cleanliness on the spread of flies in the cafeteria of Campus 1 IAKN Tarutung. Cleanliness is a crucial factor in managing the cafeteria, as unhygienic conditions can lead to an increase in fly populations, which have the potential to transmit various diseases through food contamination. This research employs a qualitative method with direct observation of the cafeteria's cleanliness and interviews with cafeteria managers and visitors. The results indicate that inadequate cleanliness, such as poorly managed waste and the accumulation of food scraps, is a primary factor attracting flies to the cafeteria area. Additionally, the lack of awareness among cafeteria managers regarding the importance of maintaining cleanliness exacerbates this issue. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the campus authorities improve cleanliness standards by providing cleanliness education to cafeteria managers and visitors, as well as implementing a more effective waste management system. By doing so, it is expected to reduce the fly population and enhance the safety and comfort of the food served in the cafeteria.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the cleanliness of bathroom water in the environment of Campus 1 IAKN (Institut Agama Kristen Negeri) Tarutung. Bathroom water is a vital component in maintaining health and hygiene, making it essential to ensure its quality meets health standards. The research involved collecting water samples from various bathrooms on the campus and conducting laboratory tests to evaluate cleanliness parameters such as total coliform, Escherichia coli, pH, and turbidity. The test results indicated that most of the bathroom water samples met cleanliness standards; however, some samples showed results beyond safe limits, particularly concerning coliform and turbidity. The analysis also identified factors contributing to contamination, including inadequate maintenance of the sanitation system and suboptimal waste disposal. These findings highlight the importance of improving the sanitation system and enhancing maintenance procedures to ensure better quality bathroom water. Recommendations include increasing maintenance frequency, using better filtration technology, and raising awareness about the importance of sanitation among users. This study is expected to contribute to efforts in improving cleanliness and health standards in the campus environment

Abstract

Increasing awareness and compliance with food sanitation principles is crucial for ensuring public safety and health. This study aims to evaluate and enhance awareness and adherence to food sanitation principles at Taman Kota Tarutung. Employing a quantitative approach, the research collects data through surveys and interviews with food vendors and visitors at the park. The primary focus is to identify the level of vendors' knowledge about food sanitation standards and to assess the implementation of proper sanitation practices in food preparation and storage. The results indicate that while most vendors have a basic understanding of food sanitation, compliance with good sanitation practices remains low. These findings highlight the need for more intensive educational programs and stricter enforcement of sanitation regulations. Recommendations include conducting food sanitation workshops, increasing routine inspections by local authorities, and launching awareness campaigns for visitors. This study is expected to contribute to improving food sanitation standards at Taman Kota Tarutung and enhancing overall public health
