Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of hands-on science teaching methods in a fourth-grade classroom. Focusing on the concept of energy, the study utilizes observation and interviews as primary research instruments to gather data on students' learning experiences and outcomes. The research method involves qualitative analysis, specifically examining how practical experiments and group discussions contribute to students’ understanding of scientific concepts. Findings indicate that hands-on learning and group-based activities significantly enhance students’ engagement and comprehension of complex ideas by allowing them to witness real-life applications of theoretical knowledge. Challenges, such as varying student learning capabilities, occasionally limit the effectiveness of this method. To address these issues, the teacher adapts the instruction by providing additional support to students with difficulties and reviewing concepts as necessary. Overall, the study suggests that hands-on, project-based learning fosters a deeper understanding of science, while adaptive teaching strategies are crucial to meeting diverse learning needs.

Abstract

The phylum Porifera, commonly known as sea sponges, plays a vital role in maintaining marine ecosystem balance and holds significant potential in the tourism and local economic sectors in Indonesia. This study aims to explore the ecological and economic benefits of Porifera, particularly within the context of Indonesia’s rich marine biodiversity. The method employed is a qualitative descriptive literature review, analyzing various relevant studies and data on the presence and utilization of Porifera. The findings indicate that Porifera function as natural biofilters and indicators of marine ecosystem health, while also offering aesthetic value that can be developed as an attraction for marine tourism. Furthermore, several Porifera species contain bioactive compounds with high economic value, making them promising resources for pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. The sustainable use of Porifera can support marine conservation efforts while enhancing the livelihoods of coastal communities. Therefore, collaboration among government, academia, and local communities is essential for managing this potential wisely and sustainably.

Abstract

Children's education in Islamic teachings is very important to form noble character and morals from the age of elementary school to 7-12 years. This article discusses the method of Islamic education for children elementary school, the role of the family as the main educator, the concept of children's education in the Qur'an and Hadith, methods and approaches to Islamic education, and its relevance in shaping children's character in the modern era. This study uses a type of qualitative research with a literature study approach (library research) to analyze various scientific and religious sources related to children's education in Islam. The results show that Islamic education from the elementary school age, which is 6-12 years old, is very effective in forming the foundation of children's faith, morals, and character, as well as helping them face the challenges of the times. Metode pendidikan anak Sekolah Dasar dalam ajaran Islam sangat penting untuk membentuk karakter dan akhlak mulia sejak usia sekolah dasar 7-12 tahun. Artikel ini membahas metode pendidikan Islam pada anak sekolah dasar, konsep pendidikan anak dalam Al-Qur’an dan Hadits, metode serta pendekatan pendidikan Islam, serta relevansinya dalam membentuk karakter anak di era modern. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi literatur (library research) untuk menganalisis berbagai sumber ilmiah dan keagamaan terkait pendidikan anak dalam Islam. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan Islam sejak usia sekolah dasar yaitu 6-12 tahun sangat efektif dalam membentuk fondasi keimanan, moral, dan karakter anak, serta membantu mereka menghadapi tantangan zaman.
