This study aims to improve the speaking skills of fourth-grade students at SDN 25 Bilah Barat, Labuhanbatu Regency, through the application of the question-and-answer method assisted by picture media in Indonesian language learning. The background of this study is based on the low speaking ability of students, which is indicated by a lack of confidence, fluency, and courage in expressing ideas orally. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kurt Lewin model, which consists of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 22 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through speaking skill tests, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques by comparing students’ learning outcomes in each cycle. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ speaking skills. In the pre-cycle stage, the percentage of students who achieved mastery learning was 40.91%, which increased to 63.64% in Cycle I and reached 86.36% in Cycle II. The implementation of the question-and-answer method assisted by picture media proved effective in enhancing students’ activeness, confidence, and ability to express ideas orally. Therefore, this method can be considered an effective alternative strategy for improving elementary school students’ speaking skills in Indonesian language learning. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas IV SDN 25 Bilah Barat Kabupaten Labuhanbatu melalui penerapan metode tanya jawab berbantuan media gambar pada pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada rendahnya kemampuan berbicara siswa yang ditandai dengan kurangnya keberanian, kelancaran, serta kepercayaan diri dalam mengungkapkan pendapat secara lisan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model Kurt Lewin yang terdiri atas empat tahap, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 22 siswa kelas IV. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi tes keterampilan berbicara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif dengan membandingkan hasil belajar siswa pada setiap siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keterampilan berbicara siswa secara signifikan. Pada pra-siklus, persentase ketuntasan belajar siswa sebesar 40,91%, meningkat menjadi 63,64% pada siklus I, dan mencapai 86,36% pada siklus II. Penerapan metode tanya jawab berbantuan media gambar terbukti mampu meningkatkan keaktifan, keberanian, serta kemampuan siswa dalam menyampaikan pendapat secara lisan. Dengan demikian, metode ini efektif digunakan sebagai alternatif pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa sekolah dasar.
