Abstract

Kegiatan pelatihan mitigasi pencemaran lingkungan bagi guru-guru SD di Kecamatan Tanjung Karang Pusat Kota Bandar Lampung bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru dalam menghadapi dan merespons dapak dari pencemaran lingkungan yang mungkin terjadi di wilayah mereka. Metode pelaksanaan yang digunakan meliputi pretest, penyampaian materi, diskusi, simulasi, dan posttest. Pelatihan dimulai dengan pretest untuk mengevaluasi pengetahuan awal peserta. Selanjutnya, materi disampaikan melalui sesi interaktif yang melibatkan diskusi tentang penyebab dan dampak bencana serta strategi mitigasi yang efektif. Selama sesi ini, peserta diajak untuk berbagi pengalaman dan pengetahuan mereka tentang bencana. Di akhir kegiatan dilaksanakan posttest untuk melihat kemampuan Guru-guru SD di Kecamatan Tanjung Karang Pusat Kota Bandar Lampung mengenai mitigasi pencemaran lingkungan. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menghasilkan guru-guru SD di Kecamatan Tanjung Karang Pusat Kota Bandar Lampung yang mampu menyusun rencana tanggap darurat, mengidentifikasi risiko bencana, serta memberikan pemahaman kepada siswa tentang langkah-langkah mitigasi yang dapat dilakukan. Hasil dari kegiatan yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan: (a) adanya peningkatan pemahaman guru mengenai pembelajaran berbasis mitigasi pencemaran lingkungan, yang terlihat dari perbedaan kemampuan sebelum dan sesudah mengikuti kegiatan; (b) meningkatnya wawasan guru terkait merancang pembelajaran berbasis mitigasi pencemaran lingkungan, (c) Selain meningkatkan keterampilan guru dalam mendesain pembelajaran berbasis mitigasi pencemaran lingkungan, kegiatan pelatihan ini juga memperoleh penilaian kepuasan yang sangat baik dari para peserta. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan yang dilaksanakan efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan kreativitas guru dalam medesain pembelajaran berbasis mitigasi pencemaran lingkungan.

Abstract

The training program “Deep Learning for Biology Teachers: Towards Innovative and Sustainable Learning” aims to enhance Biology teachers’ competence in developing instructional tools based on deep learning principles that support sustainable education. The deep learning approach plays a vital role in Biology education as it helps students understand concepts more deeply, connect them with real-world contexts, and build awareness of global issues such as environmental protection and sustainability. The success of this approach depends on the availability of well-designed learning instruments, including syllabi, lesson plans, worksheets, and authentic assessments aligned with deep learning and sustainability goals. The program’s implementation includes a pretest, material presentation, discussions, simulations, and a posttest. The pretest assesses participants’ initial knowledge, while interactive sessions explore the relationship between Biology learning, environmental issues, and disaster mitigation strategies. The posttest then evaluates teachers’ progress in designing innovative, sustainability-oriented instructional instruments. The results show improved understanding and competence among MGMP Biology participants, indicating that the training makes a tangible contribution to enhancing the quality of Biology education relevant to 21st-century challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the SDGs-oriented problem-based learning (PBL) model in improving students' scientific literacy and environmental awareness. The type of research used is a quasi-experimental. The research subjects were seventh grade SMPN 1 Gisting. consisting of classes VII A (experimental) and VII B (control), which were taken using purposive sampling technique. The experimental class was given treatment using the PBL model, while the control class used the discovery model. Data on scientific literacy skills were obtained from the results of the pretest and posttest and environmental awareness was obtained from the results of the questionnaire. Scientific literacy data were analyzed using the Independent Sample T-test. The results showed the Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.001 <0.05. Environmental awareness also reached the “very good” category with an average score of 90.16%. The average N-gain value of the experimental class's scientific literacy skills (0.53) was higher than the control class (0.23). These findings indicate that the SDGs-oriented PBL model effectively strengthens students' scientific literacy and environmental awareness. The SDGs-oriented PBL model deserves to be prioritized in scientific learning because it has been proven to be more effective in increasing students' scientific literacy and environmental awareness.
